Following #EWMA2026, we are pleased to highlight an important addition to our Mediq Select wound care portfolio. Through our cooperation with Polaroid Therapeutics, a Swiss-based biotech start-up developing innovative antimicrobial technology, POLTX_Fiber™ will become available in selected European markets as Kliniderm Super fiber + APT™, under the Mediq Select label. The dressing integrates Antimicrobial Polymer Technology™ (APT™) within a soft, conformable non-woven structure. Upon contact with wound exudate, it forms a gel that helps maintain a moist wound environment, support autolytic debridement, protect the wound edge and surrounding skin from maceration, and provide antimicrobial protection in a single dressing. By combining Polaroid Therapeutics’ antimicrobial technology with Mediq’s reach across hospital, community and home care settings, we aim to support broader access to innovative wound care solutions where they are needed most. Mediq entered the UK market in 2020 with the acquisition of H&R Healthcare. Since then, our presence has expanded through the successful integration of Bunzl Healthcare and C&P Medical, followed by entry into Ireland last year through the Medguard Professional Healthcare Supplies acquisition. #GlobalRecyclingDay Reducing residual waste is rarely the result of one big event. More often, it is the outcome of structural changes and consistent operational focus. In 2025, our total percentage of residual waste decreased from 30% in 2024 to 10% — continuing a four-year downward trend of minus 25%. This is mainly driven by the UK, where six warehouses were consolidated into one modern facility with a stronger focus on waste separation. As a result, residual waste levels in the UK dropped significantly — from 62% in 2024 to 12% in 2025. While progress differs by market, the direction is clear: better infrastructure, smarter processes and consistent separation practices make a measurable difference. “She Opened the Door, I Walked Through It.” During my career, I have had the opportunity of working with many remarkable women who showed me the way, shaped me as a person, and inspired me through their leadership and example. Most International Women’s Day posts thank the women who were kind mentors. Mine is about a woman who was neither particularly kind nor particularly fond of me — but still opened one of the most important doors in my career. This International Women’s Day at Mediq, we invited our colleagues to reflect on the women who created opportunities for us — who opened doors to growth and learning. Early in my career, I was her intern. 
She had a very direct way of teaching professionalism. Some of the advice I remember to this day: “Don’t ask questions before you Google them.” — fair.
“Do you think colorful nails and sweaters will make people take you seriously?” — ouch. She was strict about language, even stricter about preparation. Every fact had to be checked. Every sentence had to be precise. With her, I learned quickly that “almost right” was not good enough. At the time it was uncomfortable. But it was formative. Interestingly, she was also the person who invited me to the most important meeting of my early career — the one that eventually led to the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey. She was not particularly kind to me. But she tried to be fair. Even when she clearly did not like me, she was honest when evaluating my abilities. That lesson stayed with me. People may not always be kind, but they can still choose to be fair. But over the years I have learned something else as well. Observing leaders, and becoming one myself, showed me that unkindness is never a good strategy. And I am grateful that the leaders and colleagues around me at Mediq prove every day that kindness, fairness and professionalism can coexist. They invite you in, encourage you and truly see you. And today I want to take a moment to see them. #sheisMediq Eveline de Wit — for leading with her heart and showing that kindness, fairness and professionalism can coexist beautifully.
