🏒 On the ice for a good cause. Our Canadian team hit the ice for a charity hockey tournament raising money for prostate cancer research. Team members represented multiple projects that stretch from Ottawa to Toronto. The competition wrapped up with a friendly face off against our affiliate Peter Kiewit Sons ULC. No need to mention the final score 😉. What matters most is the support shown for the cause.

Construction Safety Week is coming to a close, but the work doesn’t stop. This week was a reminder of the importance of safeguard intensity, and what it takes to protect our people, both physically and mentally. Thank you to our teams for your commitment, your accountability and the way you show up for each other every day.

Safety doesn’t happen by chance. It happens by how we work. We’re kicking off Construction Safety Week 2026 with a clear focus: executing safeguards to protect our people. This week’s theme is Safeguard Intensity: No Luck. All Execution. It means that every safeguard we plan, verify and follow through on plays a role in keeping our teams safe. And it takes all of us, from leadership to the field. When we hold each other accountable, ask questions, speak up and look out for each other, we build a culture where safety leads every decision.

Four hours. Sometimes less. That’s the window our crews have each night to remove and relocate signaling systems at Union Station in Toronto, one of the busiest rail hubs in North America. In that time, crews reroute cables, make connections and test each system before returning tracks to service. This work supports the Union Station Enhancement Project, which is expanding and modernizing infrastructure to increase capacity and improve train operations. We’re proud of the progress being made and grateful for the crews in the field who deliver this work safely and reliably each night.

160 meals prepared. More than 1,000 meals supported. That was the impact of a recent volunteer event led by our teams supporting the Union Station Enhancement Project in Toronto and the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension Project. About 20 team members came together to prepare meals for families in the community, taking on everything from meal prep to organizing ingredients for future use. As the team shared, it “felt good knowing the meals prepared one day would be on tables just days later.” We’re proud of the team for making an impact where we live and work.

A little luck at the Hilo Wastewater Treatment Plant. 🍀🌈 Spotted this rainbow over the facility, where MEC is supporting Hawai‘i County’s largest infrastructure investment. Our team is delivering new power and control systems to help modernize the facility, improve reliability and protect local waters for years to come. Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

It’s Women in Construction Week, and we’re proud to recognize the employees who help move our work forward. Meet Yasmina, one of our financial analysts who joined Mass Electric in 2023. She started on site before transitioning to support solar projects. Having experience both in the field and in the office has given her a broad perspective on how projects come together from start to finish. What she enjoys most: “What I enjoy most is how dynamic the industry is. Every project brings different challenges, which means there is always something new to learn. I also appreciate how collaborative the work is. Projects depend on strong coordination between field teams, engineers, project managers and finance. Being able to support that process and see projects progress from planning to completion is very rewarding.” Her advice: “Stay curious and take the time to really understand how things work. Construction projects involve many moving parts, and the more you understand the processes behind the work, the better you'll be able to support the team and solve problems when they come up. Don't hesitate to ask questions, there's always something new to learn.” #WomenInConstructionWeek

It’s Women in Construction Week, and we’re proud to highlight the employees making an impact at MEC. Meet Brianne, a field engineer who joined MEC after graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering in May 2024. After exploring aerospace through an internship, she was drawn to infrastructure projects where engineering decisions directly serve communities. She began her career in estimating, developing cost models and analyzing technical scope, which gave her a strong foundation in both the technical and business sides of projects. Today, she’s transitioned into project execution and is working on a water wells project, where she’s had the opportunity to be part of it from the ground up. What do you enjoy most about working at MEC? “I appreciate being trusted with responsibility early in my career. I enjoy the problem solving and ownership that comes with engineering real systems. It challenges me to think critically, coordinate across different teams and understand projects beyond a single discipline.” What advice do you have for people new to the industry? “Be proactive about understanding the why behind decisions. Those who grow the fastest think beyond their immediate task and focus on long-term impact. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and say yes to opportunities that stretch you.” #WomenInConstructionWeek
