AI is shaping more adaptive, data‑driven training environments across defense simulation. In this ST Engineering article, MAK CTO Len Granowetter explores what that looks like in practice, from adaptive virtual behaviors to faster scenario generation and smarter analytics, and what that means for mission readiness: https://lnkd.in/eQr8fZK4 From the article: "When used responsibly and built on open, interoperable platforms, AI speeds analysis, deepens realism, and adapts training while preserving the trust, security, and doctrinal alignment modern readiness requires. For MAK, that means continuing to advance the MAK ONE AI-ready platform, helping defense forces learn faster, think smarter, and prepare with confidence for what comes next." #AI #ModelingAndSimulation #DefenseTraining #MAKONE #STEngineering ST Engineering North America

What can constructive simulation add to military planning and exercises? This recent Infodefensa article explores how the Chilean Army sees VR-Forces as a value-add to its training strategy, supporting the analysis and planning of operational scenarios: https://lnkd.in/e9brtsJr (Note: the article is in Spanish. There should be an option in your browser to translate to English if you need it!) #ConstructiveSimulation #MAKONE #VRForces #ModelingAndSimulation #militarytraining

Picture a wargame exercise where live, facilitator‑led play is happening in the room, while constructive simulation and operational analytics run alongside it, shaping the discussion as it unfolds. That’s the model that Gordon P. from Cordillera Applications Group, Inc. describes in this article, reflecting on a NATO Multi‑Domain Operational wargame built with MAK’s VR‑Forces, with operational analysis from Cervus’ Hive: https://lnkd.in/ebqJWiB9 Check out Gordon's POV for a look at what worked, what slowed the team down, and how those lessons led to ScenarioAI and the AI‑enabled IDEA tool, reducing manual scenario development and accelerating the transition into executable VR‑Forces wargames. #Wargaming #ModelingAndSimulation #MAKONE #VRForces #ScenarioAI

What happens to a civilian population when a drone breaches a city square, a government website goes dark, and a munition detonates overhead? The team at Conducttr built a multi-domain scenario with MAK ONE to explore these questions and show just how intertwined the cognitive and kinetic domains are. In this article, Robert Pratten walks through the Conducttr and VR-Forces integration that makes information warfare a measurable, live layer of a training scenario: https://lnkd.in/eH7Pb9t6 It's worth a read if you're thinking about how cognitive effects show up in training! Integration expertise for this project was provided by ST Engineering Antycip, MAK's exclusive European distributor and partner. #MultiDomainTraining #MilitarySimulation #MAKONE #InformationWarfare

Yay standards! The standards we are building at NATO make a big difference in keeping program costs down in the long run. The great part is that these standards are truly open and we are seeing adoption in the industry outside NATO as well. It is always worth pointing out, standards aren't always easy. they do take some investment up front and an ongoing commitment to follow them and worth together. That initial investment isn't huge, but it pays off for years as deployed systems remain open and interoperable even when new arrives and wants to join in.
The latest meeting of the Research Task Group on “Evolving M&S Applications and Services for Compliance with NATO Standards for Federated Simulation” was held from 20 to 23 April 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic. The team focused on strengthening interoperability by addressing key frameworks such as AMSP-04 (NETN-FOM), as well as requirements related to High-level Architecture (HLA) compliance and certification. These elements are essential to ensuring consistent and compatible simulation capabilities across NATO environments. Over the course of the session, participants carried out system testing and integration activities, with a particular focus on federated logistics. Their work is contributing to the refinement of processes and tools required for effective integration, as well as for the verification and certification of complex simulation systems. The meeting was marked by productive discussions, a constructive exchange of perspectives, and a continued commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes. MSG-223 extends its appreciation to BAE Systems OneArc for the excellent organization and hospitality, as well as to all contributors for their expertise and valuable input. The group looks forward to building on this progress in the next phase of its work. #MSG223 #NATO #Interoperability #ModellingandSimulation #SimulationStandards #GoStandards

MAK’s own Jim Kogler is back stateside from another round of NATO MSG‑223 standards meetings (this time in beautiful Prague!). These meetings are always a great reminder of something core to MAK: we’ve been an active part of the interoperability community from the beginning, and we’re still shaping where it’s headed. For decades, MAK has shown up alongside our industry partners to do the hard work of making systems actually work together. That long‑term commitment is built into MAK ONE: open standards, open systems, and open APIs [by design]. Here’s to the next NATO MSG‑223 meeting, and to continuing the work that keeps interoperability moving forward! #interoperability #openstandards #MSG223 #NATO

Here’s an interesting article that highlights a simple truth: technology is only as effective as the people using it. I’ve long believed that simulation shouldn’t sit at the end of a programme as a final checkbox. Its real value comes when it’s embedded from the very beginning—supporting design decisions, validating concepts early, verifying implementation, and ultimately preparing operators through realistic training. Too often, we still see programmes suffering from costly overruns and avoidable inefficiencies. A more integrated approach—leveraging a common synthetic environment strategy—can help maximise capability, improve decision-making, and maintain tighter control over costs. Are you using simulation early enough in your programmes to unlock its full value?
