We’re excited to share that LightXcelerate has been accepted into the NVIDIA Inception Program! 📣 AI infrastructure is scaling rapidly, and off-die data movement is becoming a critical bottleneck. LightXcelerate is building optical I/O for XPUs to deliver higher bandwidth density, lower power, and lower latency for next-generation AI data centers. This is another important milestone as we continue advancing our product roadmap, customer validation, and ecosystem partnerships. We’re grateful to our team, advisors, investors, and partners — and we’re excited to keep building. ❤️ We’re hiring exceptional people across optical interconnects, high-speed ICs, advanced packaging, and AI infrastructure. #NVIDIAInception #AIInfrastructure #OpticalInterconnect #Semiconductors #DataCenters #Chiplets #OpticalIO #Hiring

Photonics Empowering Next Computing Paradigm
About us
LightXcelerate is building next-generation optical I/O chiplets to address the scaling limits of AI and HPC systems. As compute continues to scale faster than electrical interconnects, I/O bandwidth, power, and density have become first-order constraints. LightXcelerate enables massively parallel, energy-efficient optical connectivity by combining micro-VCSEL arrays, advanced packaging, and system-level co-design, delivering orders-of-magnitude improvements in bandwidth density and power efficiency. Our technology is designed to integrate seamlessly into modern chiplet-based architectures, unlocking scalable optical links for GPUs, accelerators, and AI infrastructure at rack and system scale. Founded by engineers with deep experience across silicon, photonics, and system architecture, LightXcelerate is focused on building a foundational platform for the next era of AI compute.

We’ve finally had a moment to recover from an exciting and energizing #OFC2026 Optica It was fantastic to welcome so many visitors to the LightXcelerate booth for our live demo, and to see such strong interest in our micro-VCSEL-based optical interconnect technology. We were also grateful to have many attendees join our CEO Manchen Hu presentation on multicore-fiber-coupled backside-emitting micro-VCSEL/PD chiplets for optical I/O. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, attended our talks, and shared ideas with us. We’re excited to keep building new collaborations and to help bring micro-VCSEL-based optical interconnect technology closer to market. #OFC2026 #OpticalInterconnect #OpticalIO #MicroVCSEL

Why is copper hitting a wall? 🧱 Traditional electrical SerDes chokes at less than 0.5 Tbps/mm. To power trillion-parameter models, we need a different approach. We need a different approach. We need light💡 In our latest deep dive, CEO Manchen Hu explains how #LightXcelerate is shattering the bandwidth ceiling. By leveraging our proprietary #MicroVCSEL technology, the LightX-1 Engine signals directly from the ASIC level with "wide-and-native" interconnect. Read the full technical breakdown below and visit us at #OFC2026 to see how we're escaping the bottleneck.
Billions in GPU spend. 35-45% utilization. This is the reality for most AI clusters today. We are underutilizing our most expensive assets due to legacy copper interconnects. It's time to escape the bottleneck. I just published a deep dive on how #LightXcelerate is using photonics to: ✅ Eliminate the "Electrical Path Tax" ✅ Achieve 10x the bandwidth density of copper ✅ Redirect kilowatts of power back into compute cores The era of copper-bound AI is over. The era of optical-native architecture is here. Read the full article below. Catch the live demo of the LightX-1 Engine next week at Optica OFC 2026! #OFC2026 #AIInfrastructure #GPUUtilization #LightXcelerate #CoPackagedOptics #Optica #DataCenter #Semiconductors #HPC #OpticalNetworking

We’re proud to begin 2026 — and launch LightXcelerate’s first public update — by welcoming Ivo Bolsens as an Advisor to LightXcelerate. Ivo brings decades of senior leadership across the semiconductor and computing ecosystem. He previously served as Chief Technology Officer at Xilinx and Senior Vice President of Corporate Research and Advanced Development at AMD, where he led advanced hardware, software, and system-architecture initiatives for next-generation compute platforms. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University and a long-time advocate for industry–academic collaboration. As AI and HPC systems enter a new scaling phase defined by system-level constraints, heterogeneous integration, and I/O bottlenecks, Ivo’s perspective on platform architecture, compute–I/O co-design, and ecosystem strategy will be instrumental as LightXcelerate executes its optical I/O chiplet roadmap. His involvement reflects our conviction that building the next generation of AI infrastructure requires deep technical leadership, system thinking, and long-term architectural vision. We’re excited to work with Ivo Bolsens as we build in 2026 and beyond! #LightXcelerate #AdvisorAnnouncement #DeepTech #VentureCapital #AIInfrastructure #AIHardware #Semiconductors #Chiplets #OpticalInterconnects #DataCenter #Startup #EarlyStage
