From one generation to the next, creativity becomes more than something we practice it becomes something we pass on. Today that legacy continues from mother Mandy walker to daughter Ruby Bell. “My life has been immortalized in photographs, captured by my cinematographer mother, from the moment I was born. Naturally, I became a nostalgic human being and consciously sought to conserve my personal universe in pictures. Not a single momentous occasion is absent from our family archive and fortunately her artistic eye made the happy memories into cinematic recollections. We have preserved our family reminiscences ad infinitum to remember a grandfather’s laugh, a dog’s short legs, and the joy of watching family friends grow up alongside us. People change, the haircuts evolve, the time will pass anyway, so capture it while you can.” - Ruby Bell Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and mother figures who inspire us today and always.

Only a few days left to submit your work for the LOBA Women Grant 2026. The grant offers female photographers the opportunity to realise a new image series and present it as part of the Leica Oskar Barnack Award. Building on the Leica Women Foto Project, this initiative now goes global, creating recognition and visibility for women in photography worldwide. “In addition to critically engaging with social, ecological or political challenges, we encourage female photographers to submit projects that offer hopeful perspectives, document inspiring solutions or visualise pathways to change. Series that encourage and highlight positive change are an equally important part of the discourse” - Karin Rehn-Kaufmann Take the opportunity to bring your vision to life. https://lnkd.in/dQuXdcB6 📷: Anna Neubauer, last year’s Leica Women Foto Project winner in the UK

Leica Gallery New York is proud to present Ballet, a three-person exhibition featuring Henry Leutwyler, Diana Markosian, and Kylie Shea. Opening February 19, 2026, the exhibition brings together three distinct photographic practices that explore the discipline, vulnerability, and transcendence of dance through an intimate, human lens. On Saturday, February 21, the artists will be joined by world-renowned American ballet dancer Misty Copeland for a special gallery talk reflecting on the physical and emotional realities of ballet and its documentation. On view through March 29, 2026, Ballet invites viewers to experience dance beyond spectacle — as a rigorous, ephemeral, and deeply personal journey. Learn more via this link: https://lnkd.in/eXTyPND5
