Some days are harder than others. That’s true on the jobsite, in the office and at home. At Kiewit, Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that supporting mental well-being is part of how we take care of our people every day, not just during difficult moments. Through Under the Hat: Building Healthy Minds, we continue working to make mental health conversations more visible and support more accessible across our projects and offices. This month, teams across the company are participating in workshops, toolbox talks and team conversations to help reinforce an important message: asking for help is a sign of strength. Because creating more good days starts with looking out for one another. 📸 Pictured are Kiewit teams wearing green in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Over the years, Kiewit has helped deliver bridges that pushed past what had been done before. From the longest suspension bridge in the world to industry firsts, these projects set new standards at the time. Take a look back at a few that still stand out, with photos from the years they made history. 📸 Fred G. Redmon Bridge (1971), Tacoma Narrows Bridge (2007), SW Second Avenue Bascule Bridge (2004), Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge (1963) and Port Mann Bridge (2013)

For 85 years, Kiewit has delivered critical infrastructure across Canada, from coast to coast to coast. That work has also created meaningful, lasting career opportunities for the people who make it happen. Ryan Tones’ nearly 30-year career is one example of that legacy in action. From his early days in the field to leading operations across Western Canada, he’s been a part of some of Western Canada’s most impactful projects, including the Port Mann/Highway 1 Improvement, the Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvement, the Southwest Calgary Ring Road and the Trans Mountain Expansion Project. In a recent profile in the Spring 2026 issue of Construction Business, Ryan reflects on nearly three decades with Kiewit, helping carry forward a legacy of building Canada since 1941. “We enjoy the things we build and the people we build them with.” Read: https://bit.ly/4w9gvxa

We recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Oglethorpe Power’s Smarr Combined-Cycle energy facility in Monroe County, Georgia, a key step toward delivering reliable power to communities across the state. Projected to come online in 2029, the facility is expected to generate enough electricity to power an estimated 800,000 homes. It will also be among the most efficient and lowest-emitting natural gas plants in Georgia. Kiewit subsidiary TIC will lead construction, with a focus on safety, cost and schedule discipline and strong community engagement. The project is expected to employ up to 1,200 workers at peak construction. Learn more about the project: https://bit.ly/4d5ZYTd

Behind every project are the people who make it possible. And behind many of those people are incredible mothers. This Mother’s Day, we recognize the moms, stepmoms, caregivers, guardians and grandmothers who support, guide and inspire our teams. Their impact extends far beyond the jobsite. It’s felt in our work, our culture and the communities we help build. Thank you for everything you do. 💛 Here are just a few of the many mothers across Kiewit who inspire us every day.
