Today we announced a definitive agreement for KeyCorp to acquire the UK entity of Clearwater, a leading middle-market investment banking advisory firm. This transaction marks Key’s strategic entry into Western Europe and expands our ability to deliver financial advisory services to institutional clients. It also builds on the strong collaboration KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc. and Clearwater established in 2020. Together, our combined platform will create greater cross-border connectivity—giving US-based private equity sponsors and corporate clients enhanced access to European acquisition opportunities and exit strategies, while providing European clients expanded access to the US M&A market. Years of partnership with Clearwater have already generated meaningful value for clients on both sides of the Atlantic. This agreement directly supports our institutional banking growth strategy and is the natural next step in deepening support for our middle-market clients.
