Last week, we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week alongside Kansas City Public Schools and officially launched the 2026 free 2-year lease giveaway at Midland Lofts for another deserving educator. Teachers do so much more than educate. They shape futures, strengthen communities, and make a lasting impact on Kansas City every single day. It was an honor to host an evening dedicated to recognizing and thanking the people who give so much to our city. We’re excited to continue this initiative and can’t wait to welcome another teacher to the Power & Light neighborhood. The Cordish Companies

SWTHZ is now open in the Power & Light District. Located at 13th & Baltimore, the new contrast therapy studio brings infrared sauna and cold plunge sessions to downtown Kansas City. It’s designed to support recovery, boost energy, and help people reset both physically and mentally. We’re proud to welcome SWTHZ to the District and to continue expanding the mix of experiences available for residents, visitors, and the downtown community.

Yesterday we had the honor of presenting former Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes with the Kansas City Business Journal’s Power Player award. Her leadership helped spark the revitalization of downtown and laid the groundwork for projects like the Power & Light District. We’re proud to carry that momentum forward. Congratulations, Mayor Barnes.

100 DAYS. Kansas City is preparing to welcome the world, and we’ve marked the countdown with the energy you’d expect from the heart of KC. The iconic PBR Cowgirls at Kansas City Live! are wrapped in custom supporter scarves as part of Soccer in the City. Consider the District dressed and ready. This came together because one partner leaned in early and believed in the vision. We’re proud to work alongside H&RBlock, a global brand rooted in Kansas City that’s investing in this moment.
