The JG Mugshot Challenge is back for 2026 ☕ What started in 2016 with Dan Kollar taking a JG mug to Alaska has turned into one of our favorite traditions. Since then, JG mugs, glasses, and water bottles have made their way all over the world, from mountain tops to beaches to places far beyond Schenectady For 2026 Q1, our team did not disappoint! Last night, Emily, Sydney, and Paige from our recruiting team, along with our SVP Brandon, represented JG at the 2026 Times Union Media Group Top Workplaces Awards The event was held at The Crooked Lake House in Averill Park, and we were honored to be recognized as a Top Workplace in the Albany area This recognition reflects our rock star team at Jahnel Group and the values we show up with each day: serve, inspire, grow, grind!

This month’s AI Newsletter from our VP of Engineering, Ian Ballard, captures a clear shift inside our engineering team. JG engineers are building custom skills, standing up agent teams, automating workflows from issue to code review, and sharing reusable AI tooling across the company We are also putting more structure around how AI fits into software delivery, with stronger guardrails for testing, verification, auditability, and safe tool use That combination of experimentation and discipline matters. It shows that our engineers are not just trying new AI tools. They are building practical ways to use them in real development work every day We appreciate Ian for continuing to pull these updates together each month. We're excited to see where the momentum goes next!
