🎬 Is AI-generated media the next mass-market format or just hype? The Gen. AI Club report, The Future of Media Generation, breaks down the AI media landscape into three key areas: 1. Professional Production Tools – helping creators work smarter and faster 2. Consumer Generators – enabling on-demand media creation 3. Personalization Systems – adapting content to individual tastes in real-time Highlights: - Games and marketing videos are early adopters; prestige film and TV will take longer. - 53% of consumers use or experiment with Gen AI regularly. - 87% of game developers leverage AI agents; 97% see it reshaping the industry. - AI is set to impact a projected $3.5T media market by 2029. The question isn’t if AI will be part of media—it’s how we handle data, ownership, and ethics. Are you seeing AI-generated content in your feed yet? Let’s discuss! 👇 #GenAI #MediaTech #FutureOfMedia #Gaming #VFX #DigitalTransformation

Most people use AI tools every day, but very few understand what is actually happening when a model learns. This week’s video breaks down the core mechanics behind training modern AI systems. We cover three essential ideas: • Loss functions — how models measure mistakes • Backpropagation — how models adjust themselves to improve • Overfitting vs. underfitting — why some models memorize data while others fail to learn patterns The goal isn’t math or code. It’s intuition. If you understand how models improve during training, you start to see why data quality, model size, and compute matter so much in modern AI. This is one of the most important conceptual building blocks for understanding machine learning.

This week the Generative AI Club at Indiana University is hosting our Week 7 project work session, where members will refine their AI concepts and prepare submissions for the Red Bull Basement global innovation challenge. During the session, teams will participate in structured peer review discussions to evaluate project ideas based on: • Problem clarity • Real-world impact • Feasibility of the AI solution • Alignment with the Red Bull Basement mission of democratizing innovation Following the feedback session, teams will spend the remainder of the meeting refining their concepts and submitting their official Red Bull Basement proposals.

Week Four: Neural Networks — Explained Simply We’ve built the intuition. Now we start opening the hood. In Week Four of our AI Foundations series, we break down one of the most important concepts in modern AI: Neural Networks. In this video, we cover: • What an artificial “neuron” actually is • How layers work together to recognize patterns • What “weights” represent • Why “deep” learning changed everything Neural networks power everything from image recognition to large language models. Yet most people use AI tools every day without understanding what’s happening underneath. Our goal isn’t to turn everyone into ML engineers. It’s to remove the intimidation factor — and replace it with understanding. Because once the structure makes sense, modern AI starts to feel a lot less mysterious. #ArtificialIntelligence #MachineLearning #NeuralNetworks #GenAI #StudentLeadership #TechEducation

This week, Gen AI Club will focus on advancing our semester-long AI innovation project in preparation for the Red Bull Basement competition. The session will begin with a short technical breakdown of what makes an AI solution strong, defensible, and impactful. We will cover: - Defining a clear, specific problem statement - Identifying your exact user and pain point - Clarifying the AI mechanism (what the model is actually doing) - Establishing measurable impact metrics - Strengthening differentiation and feasibility The majority of the meeting will be dedicated to hands-on team collaboration as members refine and build out their project concepts. This workshop marks a key milestone in our semester competition and is designed for students interested in AI innovation, entrepreneurship, and applied generative AI.
