Consul General Gerald Angley was delighted to attend the announcement of the 2026 Mulachy Scholars. 🎓 The Mulachy Scholarship was launched in 2018 by the Aisling Irish Community Center in tribute to Denis Mulachy and his family’s commitment to Project Children, a charity that for 40 years worked tirelessly to change the lives of children across Northern Ireland. Congratulations to the students honored, and to the AICCC and Project Children for their continued work in this space.

Congratulations to Royal Irish Academy of Music - RIAM and The Juilliard School on another fantastic joint performance. Great to see this amazing partnership go from strength to strength, bringing Ireland and New York together through music, education and shared artistic ambition.
The second stop on our mini US 🇺🇸 tour brought us to New York and the American Irish Historical Society for a special collaboration between the Royal Irish Academy of Music - RIAM and The Juilliard School. Curated by Iain Burnside, The Seven Deadly Sins combined song and poetry in a compelling programme exploring temptation, excess and downfall through music and text. Featuring singers and pianists from RIAM and The Juilliard School, the evening celebrated international artistic collaboration and the power of performance to connect artists and audiences across borders. We were delighted to welcome Katie Daughen, Deputy Consul General Consulate General of Ireland, New York who opened the evening. Thank you to all our New York friends and supporters who joined us for such a memorable night of music in the city.

Delighted to join Irish Arts Center for their annual Women of Irish Arts luncheon at the Metropolitan club! The event celebrates the innovative and inspiring women whose creativity, leadership and generosity sustains Irish and Irish American arts and culture. The event honoured Maggie Timoney, the first woman to lead a major American beer company, and brilliant actor, writer & comedian Kate Flannery, who shared hilarious and moving stories about her Irish upbringing in Pennsylvania. Congratulations to both! ☘️

How do cultural institutions move beyond symbolic inclusion and towards meaningful accessibility? That question sits at the centre of Irish disability advocate Sinéad Burke’s work with the Costume Institute on accessibility measures for the Met Gala, and contributing to “The Disabled Body”, a section of the Costume Art exhibition exploring disability, fashion and embodiment. The work included advising on accessibility strategy, supporting exhibition development, training volunteer guides, and contributing to the creation of 9 new mannequin forms based on Disabled bodies, including Burke’s own body. It’s a powerful example of how accessibility can shape not only participation, but also cultural understanding itself. Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/e4NBkxxg
