Infleqtion researchers and collaborators at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, including Infleqtion Chief Scientist for Quantum Information Professor Mark Saffman, have published new work on improving neutral-atom entangling gate fidelities near Förster resonances. The paper identifies an important mechanism: when atoms are tuned near Förster resonances, the exchange interaction between quantum states can actively suppress gate errors. By incorporating this into gate design, the team demonstrates a path to fidelities exceeding 99.9% - a threshold considered essential for fault-tolerant quantum computing and a meaningful reduction in the overhead required to run reliable logical qubits at scale. Infleqtion has signed a Letter of Intent with the U.S. Department of Commerce's CHIPS for America Research and Development Office for $100 million in proposed funding to accelerate U.S.-based quantum computing technologies critical to economic competitiveness and national security. “Quantum computing is emerging as a foundational technology for economic competitiveness, technological leadership, and national security,” said Matthew Kinsella, Chief Executive Officer of Infleqtion. “This investment reflects the transformative potential of quantum innovation, and we’re honored to work with the Department of Commerce to accelerate U.S. leadership in quantum computing.” The proposed investment supports the advancement of neutral-atom quantum systems across quantum hardware, photonics and full-stack system development, while strengthening domestic quantum manufacturing, supply chain and workforce capabilities. Infleqtion’s quantum technologies are already supporting programs across national security, energy, and scientific research, including Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and United States Department of War. “NVIDIA and Infleqtion have long worked together to accelerate the capability of quantum computing through integration of quantum processors with GPU supercomputing,” said Timothy Costa, Vice President and General Manager for Quantum at NVIDIA. “This announcement is an important milestone for developing large-scale quantum computing systems in the United States, and we're excited to continue supporting Infleqtion on this journey.” Read the full announcement: https://ow.ly/FtjG50Z2CTY

Infleqtion today announced a series of advances across its neutral-atom quantum computing platform, including a world-record dual-species entangling gate fidelity, new theory from Chief Scientist Mark Saffman charting a path to >99.9% gate performance, a novel static magnetic-field approach to atom transport, and the open-source release of resource-superstaq for fault-tolerant application planning. Each breakthrough addresses a distinct layer of the quantum stack. Together, they reflect meaningful progress toward utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computing. Infleqtion will host a webinar on June 24 to walk through the results and their implications for resource estimation, quantum error correction, high-fidelity entangling-gate design and scalable atom motion. Each era of technology is defined by new levels of precision. From quantum sensing and precision timing to the future of quantum computing, quantum technologies are pushing measurement to new frontiers, enabling capabilities once thought impossible. On #WorldMetrologyDay, we’re recognizing the science of precision that underpins modern innovation. 150 years ago today, leaders from 17 nations signed the Metre Convention to establish a shared system of measurement. They couldn’t have imagined the quantum future now taking shape, but they helped make it possible. ⚛️

What an exciting week for the quantum community here in Boulder! On Thursday, I had the opportunity to represent Infleqtion and participate in the Quantum Pre-Standardization Workshop: Metrology for Quantum Technologies hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The workshop brought together leaders from government, national labs, academia, and industry to discuss one of the biggest challenges facing quantum technologies: how we create trusted measurement, characterization, and standards frameworks to accelerate real-world deployment. A major focus was supporting NMI-Q, a new G7-endorsed collaboration of National Metrology Institutes designed to accelerate the quantum economy through vetted measurement practices, as well as key deliverables under the UK/US Technology Prosperity Deal. I was especially excited to participate in the Quantum Sensing Measurement Needs panel discussion. Huge thanks to my co-panelist Kaitlin Moore from Rydberg Technologies and moderator Andrew Attar from Vescent for a fantastic discussion on the future of quantum sensing and metrology. The party continued Friday with an outstanding visit to Infleqtion's US HQ from the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). Special thanks to Ivan Rungger, Tobias Lindstrom, Tim Prior, John Devaney, Alexander Tzalenchuk, and Olga Kazakova for braving the rugged Colorado wilds to see us! Special thanks as well to Barbara Goldstein, Tim Prior, the NIST/NPL teams, and Jessi Olsen + Zachary Yerushalmi from Elevate Quantum for putting this all together. The future of quantum moves pretty fast....if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. #SaveFerris #QuantumTechnology #Quantum #Metrology #QuantumSensing #NIST #NPL #ElevateQuantum #DeepTech #NMIQ https://lnkd.in/gC3vjGK5
