Most DIY electronics hobbyists have a "junk drawer" that’s actually a goldmine of sensors and antennas (if only you could find them!). In this session from #ICCLevelUp, Adrienne Harvey shows us how she used Ignition Maker Edition to build the ultimate electronics inventory system. Whether you are a solo hobbyist or managing a busy makerspace, this system helps you document parts, store datasheets, and most importantly, stop buying parts you already have in a box somewhere. DCDD 2026 sold out the Capital One Hall atrium last week: 215 data center practitioners in the room for a full day on operating AI infrastructure at scale. The day was bookended by two live demos showing different takes on the same idea: commissioning at the speed of configuration. Travis Cox opened with Ignition 8.3’s infrastructure-as-code capabilities, walking through how multi-stage Dev/Test/Prod environments let data center teams replicate and spin up fully configured monitoring and control systems in hours rather than weeks. QTS Data Centers closed with their telemetry-as-code approach, showing how the same principles play out inside a hyperscale operator running at production scale. The thread tying both demos together: new data halls come online by deploying a configuration, with MQTT and a Unified Namespace handling the link between physical infrastructure and enterprise IT. Sessions across the day covered redundant architectures, rapid commissioning, and how teams are putting these capabilities to work today. Thank you to our speakers from Nautilus Data Technologies, Verrus, Meta, BW Design Group, and QTS Data Centers, our sponsors, and everyone in the room. What's a common ISA-101 mistake that you see often? Drop it in the comments!
Many industrial companies invest in advanced technologies - but overlook the screens operators use every day. Cluttered and inconsistent HMIs lead to errors, slower reactions, and higher risk. That’s where ISA‑101 comes in. It brings clarity, consistency, and structure to operator interfaces - helping people make faster, safer decisions. 👉 Clear interface = better performance HMI examples in the images below are from Inductive Automation and their #Ignition SCADA software. #ISA101 #HMI #Automation #Industry40 #SCADA #DigitalTransformation
