I Know I Can reposted this
A full circle moment being part of Alumni Day with I Know I Can as a panelist at Beechcroft High School. This is the same school I graduated from in 2022, so coming back and speaking to students sitting in the same seats I once sat in made this experience even more meaningful. Being able to share my journey and remind students that there is no single path to success is something I don’t take lightly. Everyone’s story looks different, and that’s what makes it powerful. It was a great experience being alongside inspiring panelists and being part of something that gives back to the next generation. #AlumniDay #IKnowICan #GiveBack #Mentorship #StudentSuccess #TheOhioStateUniversity #FirstGen #CommunityImpact

The Academies of Columbus City Schools are transforming education through college and career connected learning. Why college and career connected learning? Katina Fullen, Chief Executive Officer at I Know I Can said, "Because students should not have to guess how their education connects to their future. College and career connected learning helps turn big dreams and hard work into real opportunities." #AcademiesofCCS are the future of high school education. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/eNg-XCf5

Yesterday I had the pleasure of presenting a “TED Talk” amongst my colleagues at I Know I Can. Using my artwork, ‘The Butterfly Effect’, I discussed how metamorphosis can serve as a tool to help us achieve our goals! I love being able to facilitate conversation and empower others using art! Everyone’s butterflies were so beautiful! What will your personal butterfly look like when you finally spread your wings and achieve your goals? 🦋🎨

Meet Ilyas Nur! A 2023 CAHS grad, Ilyas started at OSU Newark and transferred to OSU Main Campus, where he’s thriving in a competitive Radiologic Sciences program. He’s maintaining a 3.9 GPA, excelling in clinicals (which he refers to as “a beast”), and already has a job lined up post-graduation. 🌟 Ilyas’s dedication, hard work, and the support from I Know I Can are setting him up for an amazing future in healthcare. It’s never too early or too late for students to start planning for their future, and we have advisors in every school building to help! Our Career Navigators assist CCS 9th–10th graders, and our College Advising Managers support 11th–12th graders across all our districts. Students and parents can search for their school's advisor(s) here ➡️ www.iknowican.org/advisors #IKnewICould #DreamBig #StudentHighlight

Earlier this week, members of the I Know I Can team had the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences at the OACAC: Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling Conference. Our Assistant Director of College Advising, Giana Loyer, MBA, co-presented the First Timers Session, helping welcome and encourage the next wave of professionals entering the field. Giana also presented alongside Monika Wiggins, Assistant Director of College Advising, highlighting the impactful work I Know I Can does to guide and support students along their chosen pathways after high school. Our College Advising Managers, Beth Coccia and Dawn Lee-Britt,MPH, led a session on empathy fatigue, sharing insights on how professionals can care for themselves while continuing to support students and communities. We’re grateful to have team members who are not only supporting students every day, but also contributing to conversations that strengthen our entire field. #IKnowICan #DreamBig #OACAC #ProfessionalDevelopment

Members of our team recently completed Adult Mental Health First Aid training through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, led by Dr. Rayshawn L. Wilson, LPCC. This training strengthens our ability to recognize signs of mental health challenges, respond with care, and connect individuals to the support they need. We’re committed to showing up for our students and community with empathy, knowledge, and compassion. #IKnowICan #DreamBig #MentalHealthFirstAid #Community
