Texas Health Resources is a 29-hospital health system that looked a lot like many of the revenue cycle leaders we talk to — mounting write-offs, a team buried in manual work, and a previous vendor that offered visibility without actually solving the problem. After partnering with Humata: 1️⃣ Staff who had been running on overtime to meet financial clearance expectations finally weren't. 2️⃣ Clinical bundling that once required specialized internal resources was handled automatically. 3️⃣ A team that had been reactive for years started getting ahead of the work. The results speak for themselves, but the quotes say it better. 👉 Read the full case study → https://lnkd.in/egPK5Dsj

There's a reason urgency has replaced optimism in so many healthcare conversations right now. Jeremy Friese, MD, Founder & CEO of Humata Health doesn't sugarcoat it — and neither does the data. Healthcare finances are not on sustainable footing, and the organizations that treat this moment as business as usual are taking the biggest risk of all. The leaders featured in HFMA's Hospital of the Future Part 1 aren't waiting. They're building toward what comes next. 📖 Read the full report → https://hubs.ly/Q04gjch10 👉 Join HFMA today to access more essential resources for healthcare finance leaders: https://hubs.ly/Q04gj0lS0 #HospitalOfTheFuture #HFMA #HealthcareLeadership

Healthcare is at a crossroads. That's not a prediction, it's where we are right now. Our founder and CEO, Jeremy Friese, MD, was featured in Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA)'s 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 report alongside finance and operations leaders from Cleveland Clinic, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Corewell Health, and WVU Medicine. His take: the leaders who embrace a platform model - one that delivers both well care and sick care - are the ones who will build what healthcare actually needs next. 🔗 Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/gE--6Nd7 #HospitalOfTheFuture #HFMA #HealthcareLeadership #HealthcareFinance #HealthcareInnovation #PriorAuthorization #HealthcareAI

𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙩. Texas Health Resources was managing millions in authorization-related write-offs, 60 FTEs stretched across manual workflows, and a payer landscape that required staff to navigate portals across half a dozen platforms, every single day. Their previous vendor could tell them where an authorization stood. It couldn't do much else. After partnering with Humata, THR went from fragmented, manual processes to 100% automated coverage across in-scope services and payers, with first-pass approval rates climbing and overtime disappearing from the revenue cycle floor for the first time in recent memory. 👉 Read the full case study → https://lnkd.in/egPK5Dsj

Healthcare is at a crossroads — and for the first time, nobody has the luxury of standing still. HFMA's Hospital of the Future Part 1 is here. The picture it paints is both urgent and undeniable: the financial model is broken, the technology is arriving faster than most organizations can absorb it, and the leaders who wait for certainty before acting will already be behind. This report features candid #CFO, #CMO, and #CIO insights at some of the country's most forward-thinking health systems. Part 1 drops now. More to come. 📖 Read the full report → https://lnkd.in/gE--6Nd7 👉 Join HFMA today to access more essential resources for healthcare finance leaders: https://lnkd.in/eBS9ab3p #HospitalOfTheFuture #HFMA #HealthcareFinance

𝗖𝗠𝗦 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻. A new proposed rule, CMS-0062, extends prior authorization interoperability requirements to drugs for the first time, bringing pharmacy benefit management into the same FHIR-based framework that CMS-0057 established for medical items and services. Our CGO, Michael Kolb, breaks down what's changing, why it matters, and what health systems and payers need to be doing before this becomes the next compliance deadline on your radar. 🔗 humatahealth.com/resources #PriorAuthorization #HealthcareAI #HealthIT #Payers #PatientAccess #HumataHea

This week’s Optum Interqual UM Forum is a place where health care leaders from payer and provider organizations came together from across the country to learn and collaborate - to advance the work to create smarter ways of delivering and reimbusing #evidencebasedcare. It was an honor to kick off today’s session hosting a panel with Jeremy Friese, MD and Dr. John Kontor to discuss #AI in the #PatientJourney. We covered how technology is an enabler to solve hard problems, like making faster more accurate diagnoses, automating prior auth, and improving the patient experience. What was most memorable though was the focus on the #human element - elevating the clinician to focus on #compassion and healing, driving individual and organizational #chagemanagement to improve processes, and leveraging technology so we can spend more time on getting the best outcomes. Solving the problems in healthcare is a human endeavor. At Interqual’s 50th anniversary, we recognize how foundational this technology has been to making the system work better- and also that it is a journey, not a destination. Simplifying healthcare with AI means more quality time with patients and better outcomes because we are more right, earlier in the care journey.

𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝘅 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲. 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆. From NAHAM in Chicago to eSolutions Xchange in Chattanooga, the conversations that mattered most were the ones happening across the aisle— providers and payers in the same room, talking honestly about what's broken. Our CEO, Jeremy Friese, MD made that case publicly in MedCity News, and our VP of Payer Success, Heidi Kriz, MPH, RD took it to the stage in Chattanooga with Highmark's Nick Milone. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻. CMS-0062 proposes extending electronic PA requirements to drugs for the first time, with shorter decision windows and new public reporting obligations for impacted plans. This rule expands CMS-0057 into drugs, and as drug auths increase year-on-year, the rule stands to make a major change in the environment if approved. The regulatory roadmap is getting longer. We can help you navigate it. humatahealth.com.
