  • Today is National Speech-Language Pathologist Day. SLPs go beyond supporting students' speech. They help them: ⭐️ Build confidence to participate in class ⭐️ Form meaningful friendships ⭐️ Conquer the fear of speaking up ⭐️ Access classwork that once felt out of reach SLPs are some of the most critical members of a student's support team, and their work touches every corner of the school day. We're so thankful to have a team of dedicated SLPs making this happen in schools across the country. Happy #SLPDay! 💛

    • Happy National Speech-Language Pathologist Day
  • “I believe that mentors are essential in our profession.” These are the words from one of our amazing school psychologists, Gina Baker! As a district mentor at Huddle Up, Gina supports new school psychologists navigating complex cases, transitioning to virtual environments, and working in roles where they're often the only psych in the building. She's been in those positions herself, so she knows how much a strong support system matters. That experience makes her an invaluable mentor and collaborator across schools and districts. At Huddle Up, our providers don't just show up and log hours. They support each other, problem-solve together, and make each other better. That's the culture we build. And providers like Gina are a big reason why. Let's take a moment to recognize Gina and her dedication! 👏👏👏

  • School is often the first place where a child’s mental health struggles become visible. But for many students, it’s also the first place where someone notices they need help. One study found that 71% of students identified through school-based mental health screenings as being at risk had never previously received treatment. (Husky et al., Journal of School Health, 2011) Schools are places where students should be able to thrive both academically and emotionally. Early intervention can change a student’s trajectory and help lead to success both inside and outside the classroom. • May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, and we want to recognize one of our wonderful pediatric speech-language pathologists ✨ Manuela is bilingual (English/Spanish), ASHA certified, and brings over 10 years of clinical experience to her work. Since joining the Prince George's County Public Schools team, she's been an incredible asset, particularly through her bilingual evaluations and therapy. Her culturally responsive approach has helped students and families feel seen and supported, and her fellow providers have taken notice, too. We're proud to connect schools and districts with dedicated SLPs like Manuela, and this month, we're celebrating every one of them. To our entire team of SLPs, thank you for the work you do every day 💛

  • This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and if you're a school or district leader, you have the power to make it meaningful. Not with a generic email. Not with pizza or a sheet cake in the lounge (though most won't say no to cake). With real, intentional gestures that show your teachers they're seen. We put together 3 simple ways to show appreciation this week.  Swipe through for ideas you can pull off before the end of the week. We partner with districts every day, and we see how much teachers pour into their work and consistently show up for students. Let’s celebrate and show our teachers some love! ♥️

  • For Occupational Therapy Month, we're spotlighting someone who makes our OT team stronger every day. Meet Kayla Plutschack, one of our Clinical Managers at Huddle Up. Kayla brings years of experience in school-based occupational therapy, and her passion for student outcomes shows in everything she does. From mentoring providers to collaborating with district teams, she's the kind of leader who leads by doing. We're lucky to have people like Kayla behind the scenes making sure every student gets the support they deserve. Happy Occupational Therapy Month to Kayla and all the OTs out there doing this important work.

  • What does it take for a child to sit in a chair, hold a pencil, and follow along with a lesson? More than most people think. For some students, those "basics" are the hardest part of the school day. And the incredible people helping them get there are occupational therapists. OTs work behind the scenes on the skills that make everything else in school click. As we close out Occupational Therapy Month, we celebrate their work, their patience, and their impact 💛

  • "It's not going to work, but we need to try something." That's what Dr. Kara Anderson told her team when virtual services first came up at St. Joseph School District. She wasn't sold. But four years later: ⭐️ Students are receiving consistent support ⭐️ The district is staying in full compliance ⭐️ Parents who fought the change are watching their children succeed ⭐️ SLPs aren't burning out under impossible caseloads Here's how it happened 👇 https://lnkd.in/euqjjtH2

  • We're excited to join special education leaders at the CASE Academy of Law & Leadership in Atlanta this week! With sessions focused on legal compliance, policy, and strategic leadership, it's a great opportunity to connect with the people navigating some of the toughest decisions in special education. If you're attending, we'd love to connect and discuss how Huddle Up helps districts stay compliant by closing provider gaps - ensuring students receive the specialized services they're entitled to.

  • "I've been pleasantly surprised." That was Dr. Kara Anderson's first reaction when virtual services came up. She'd raised pay. Offered incentives. Tried every contracted company. And still couldn't fill her SLP positions at St. Joseph School District. Sound familiar? Hear what changed her mind — and why she says she's been "pleasantly surprised."
