About us

Mission: To build decent housing and to renovate substandard housing on Maui in partnership with community volunteers and potential homeowners so that homelessness and substandard housing on Maui is eliminated. Habitat for Humanity Maui builds and sells homes to underserved families on zero interest mortgages and no-profit basis. We serve families earning 25-80% of Maui County's median income. Habitat for Humanity Maui believes that through shelter we can build strength and stability for families and our community. All are welcome! Habitat for Humanity Maui has an open-door policy and believe that everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ancestry, familial status, disability, marital status, age, sexual orientation, political views or any other distinctions that too often divide people. We welcome everyone from all backgrounds.

  • Music, community, and a mission that matters. We are honored to share that Habitat for Humanity Maui is being featured through the concert series at The Shops at Wailea! These gatherings bring people together and also open the door for more of our community to learn about the need for safe, affordable housing right here in Maui. If you’re attending, we invite you to stop by, learn more, and be part of something meaningful. Follow along and share our mission with others who care about Maui’s future.

  • We’re deeply grateful to the staff, board members, and community supporters from Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles who traveled to Maui to volunteer with us during National Volunteer Appreciation Week. Their hard work and compassion have made a real impact in our ongoing disaster recovery efforts. Moments like these remind us of the strength of the Habitat network — affiliates supporting affiliates, communities lifting each other up, and hope being rebuilt one home at a time. We would also like to thank Kalei's Lunchbox for their generous lunch donation. If you’d like to join us in this work, you can volunteer or donate to support families rebuilding after the Lahaina fires. Together, we make recovery possible. #HabitatForHumanityMaui #LahainaStrong #HabitatLA #DisasterRecovery #StrongerTogether #VolunteerAppreciationWeek

  • The headlines may have faded, but the need hasn’t. Maui’s recovery from the 2023 wildfires is still in progress, and we’re in it for the long haul. In Lahaina alone, thousands of homes were lost, including 10 in our Kahoma Residential Subdivision. Families had only just begun to settle into those homes. Now, we’re helping them rebuild. We’re doubling our homebuilding efforts this year and offering support through: 🔹Forgivable grants to cover rebuilding gaps 🔹0% interest mortgages through our reconstruction program 🔹Critical home repairs for smoke and ash damage A safe, affordable home is the first step toward healing, and we need your help to build it. Visit www.habitat-maui.org to join us in building homes, communities, and hope.
