  • Celebrating an incredible milestone, Lori's 25th Anniversary at GCVS! 🎉 Lori's passion for veterinary medicine began at just 10 years old, when she wanted to "be a vet." By age 14, she was already working at her first veterinary clinic as a kennel assistant, where her dedication and curiosity quickly opened the door to learning advanced technical skills. From there, she built an impressive career path that included working in exotic animal medicine, earning a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, and ultimately bringing her knowledge and heart to GCVS. Today, Lori is a valued member of our Neurology team, where her experience, teamwork, and compassion shine every day. She loves helping clients better understand their pets' diagnoses, mentoring team members, and creating a calmer, more positive experience for both pets and their families. Lori, thank you for 25 years of dedication, growth, and heartfelt care. Your passion for learning and helping others has made a lasting impact on countless patients, clients, and teammates. We are so grateful to celebrate this milestone with you! 💙

  • This week, our GCVS Houston team spent time with our amazing referring veterinarians and technicians at Karbach Brewing Co. for another continuing education event! One of our board-certified surgeons, Grayson Cole, DVM, DACVS, CCRP, presented on Principles of Surgical Oncology and shared valuable insight into surgical decision-making, planning, and patient care. We always enjoy opportunities like this to connect, collaborate, and learn alongside the doctors and technicians who trust us with their patients every day. We're so grateful for a referring community that is so passionate about continuing education and advancing veterinary medicine together. A special shoutout as well to our event sponsors, Texas Pet Meadow and Hill's Pet Nutrition, for helping make the evening possible.

  • We had such a fun time this weekend at the Houston Humane Society's 44th Annual K9 Fun Run + Walk! There's just something special about spending the morning surrounded by people who love pets as much as we do. From meeting adorable dogs to connecting with our Houston community, it was a day full of smiles, tail wags, and lots of support for an incredible cause. Thank you to everyone who came out, stopped by to chat with our team, and helped make the event such a success. We're so grateful to be part of a community that shows up for pets in such a big way. 💙

  • If you're treating patients with persistent sneezing, nasal discharge, or "sniffly" breathing that just won't resolve, this is a great resource to share with your clients. Written in consultation with one of our board-certified internists at GCVS Houston, Melissa Clark, DVM, PhD, DACVCP, DACVIM, pet owners learn why chronic nasal disease can be so challenging to diagnose and what to expect when advanced diagnostics are recommended. It helps set clear expectations for CT imaging, rhinoscopy, and biopsies, while reinforcing the need for a stepwise, thorough diagnosis. This can be especially helpful in guiding client conversations when symptoms persist despite initial treatment. https://lnkd.in/gY_NS94C
