It was a great and amazing experience to be part of the audience at the Black Business Live Podcast with Wale Mafolasire, Founder and CEO of Givelify , as a speaker. One key takeaway for me was the importance of the steps that drive decision-making in product development. The 4 steps showed the “why” behind a product and the value it is intended to deliver: 1. Integrity 2. Heart 3. Simplicity 4. The Wow Effect Steps 3 and 4 stood out to me the most. The discussion emphasized that when a product is considered complete, one important question to ask is: “Have we made it simple enough?” Another key question emphasized was: “What is the one more thing that can be added to move a good and simple product to ‘Wow’?” Step 4 gives the opportunity to go a little bit further to create an experience that truly stands out and connects with people. His closing thoughts on leadership were highly insightful. From my perspective, it was clear that the focus and goal of Givelify is centered on meeting people’s needs and creating impact through innovation. As John C. Maxwell said, “Everything worthwhile is uphill,” and this truly reflected the journey of building something meaningful from the ground up.

  • The chat made it out of Slack! 🙌 Our Givelify family crossed paths in Dallas a couple of weeks ago, creating space for an impromptu reunion. Being a virtual-first team means that we get to work with incredible people no matter where they are in the world. Moments like this help us truly appreciate the people we have in our community. Drop a 🧡 if this sounds like your kind of meeting.

  • Perspective changes everything. Alsidneio Bell attended his 7th National Society of Black Engineers Convention this year, experiencing it for the first time as a recruiter. "It was surreal being on the other side," he notes. "I remembered what it was like, hoping to have a conversation that led somewhere, and the panic of knowing that it was most likely the last chance to secure an internship before the summer." He wanted to make it clear: We weren't just there to collect resumes. We were there to have meaningful conversations with future scientists and engineers. "Thank you for your elevator speech," he'd say. "Now, let's talk like humans." Real people. Genuine conversations. Welcoming the future of STEM. That's the spirit our entire team took to #NSBE2026. We're so grateful to have spent an amazing weekend of connection in Baltimore. Thank you for every meaningful moment at Booth 2486. See you next year in Boston. #BlackEngineers #AdvancingSTEM

  • Who gets access to the room? That question matters. One of our favorite moments from Conversations 2026 in Scottsdale. Kimberly and DeShawn (both alumni of our internship program) in the room with leaders sharing their experience and talking about what's next. Not just in the audience. In the conversation. It was a proud moment for our team. Black History Month is a meaningful time to reflect on legacy and progress. And moments like this feel special. We’re grateful to keep building pathways that create opportunities like this and we’re excited about what’s ahead! 🧡
