  • How do we bridge the gap between conservation data and impactful decisions? That question was at the heart of our week at the International Conservation Technology Conference #ICTC2026 in Lima – and we came away more convinced than ever that the tools and frameworks to close it are within reach. From dashboards designed around management questions and data flows between strategy and tactics, to AI-powered evidence review, to making the case for shared data standards in conservation tech, these ideas found a genuinely engaged and inspiring audience. Add in our pre-conference workshop on #ConservationStandards and Miradi Conservation Software, and it was a week of rich conversations we can't wait to continue. A heartfelt thank you to the ICTC organisers, led by WILDLABS Community, for creating a space where conservationists and technologists could genuinely connect, challenge each other, and move the field forward. See you at the next ICTC! Photo credits: Manuel Augusto & team, Sara Estlander #ConservationTech #MiradiSoftware #AdaptiveManagement #AIforConservation

  • We are thrilled to see the official launch of the Protected Area Accelerator Program by Mongolian Nature's Legacy Foundation (MNLF) / Монголын Байгалийн Өв Сан! At FOS Europe, we’ve been working closely behind the scenes with the MNLF to ensure this program is grounded in global standards and local reality. Our journey to this launch included: - Testing the framework: We piloted the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) Assessment Framework with two Mongolian PAs to build a localised, high-impact MNLF Assessment Tool. - Co-design: We helped structure the two-phase Accelerator (Readiness and Management Improvement) and the Self-Assessment Tool that identifies critical funding priorities. - Building capacity: We’ve worked to instil adaptive management practices and strategic planning to ensure these grants create long-term conservation impact. It’s been a privilege to co-create the “engine” behind this initiative. We can’t wait to see the first cohort of 11 PAs take this forward!

🌿 Applications are now open for the “Protected Area Accelerator” Program. 🇲🇳 Under the Eternal Mongolia – Project Finance for Permanence initiative, jointly implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, The Nature Conservancy, and the Mongolian Nature’s Legacy Foundation, we are proud to launch the Protected Area Accelerator Program. 🌎 This initiative is designed to strengthen the management effectiveness of Mongolia’s Protected Areas while establishing long-term, sustainable financing mechanisms to support conservation impact. Structured in two phases—Readiness and Management Improvement—the program provides integrated support for biodiversity conservation, sustainable financing, and meaningful engagement of local communities. Selection Guidelines for Protected Area Administrations: https://lnkd.in/drpjHxjE Key Information: 🔹 Program period: 2026–2029 🔹 Eligible applicants: Protected Area administrations 🔹 11 PA administrations will be selected for the 2026 cohort 🔹 Grants ranging from MNT 500 million to MNT 3 billion 🔹 Application deadline: April 5, 2026 📌 Submit your application: https://lnkd.in/dhQrsbrT 📅 An online information session will be held on March 13, 2026, to provide further details and respond to questions. 📩 For inquiries: grants@mnlf.org We look forward to partnering with Protected Area administrations to strengthen conservation leadership across Mongolia. _________________________________________________________________ 🌿 “Тусгай хамгаалалттай газар нутгийн хурдасгуур” хөтөлбөрт өргөдөл хүлээн авч эхэллээ.

  • Conservation data is plentiful, but is it talking? Without clear standards, conservation tech remains a collection of silos. At #ICTC2026, we are building the roadmap for a unified data ecosystem to ensure our tools, data, and teams work together seamlessly and learn from each other. Join our interactive session to map out the current state of play, brainstorm the components of a future set of integrated data standards, and identify gaps and priorities. Let’s set the standard for the future! 🛠️🌿🚀 #ConservationTech #DataStandards #ConservationStandards

  • Fast-track your conservation evidence review to focus on what matters! Manually sifting through scientific papers, field data, and local knowledge in search of decision support is a massive bottleneck for conservation teams. At #ICTC2026, we are unveiling a solution to break the logjam: the BEAM AI Agent. This LLM-based tool automates the rigorous Balance Evidence Assessment Method (BEAM) to summarise vast amounts of data. By handling the heavy lifting of sifting and assessing, it lets your team focus on what matters most: interpretation, collaborative learning, and strategic action. Join the journey! For an introduction to a practical application of the BEAM method, have a look at https://lnkd.in/eiQb9QZN #ConservationLearning #ConservationTech #AIForConservation

  • Is your data sitting in a database, or is it sitting at the decision-making table? At #ICTC2026, we are challenging the "data-first" paradigm and demonstrating why a "question-first" approach is the key to bridging the gap between field monitoring and strategic decision-making. In this session, Annette Stewart from Bush Heritage Australia & Conservation Measures Partnership and Sara Estlander from FOS Europe will show examples of real-world dashboards designed to answer critical management questions. You will learn practical ways to optimise your monitoring, save resources, and ensure your data drives actual conservation impact. #ConservationTech #ConservationStandards #DashboardsForConservation #AdaptiveManagement
