You wear Carhartt to get the job done. You drive a Ford Super Duty while doing it. It’s only natural that a collaboration between these two icons would result in the ultimate work truck. It’s much more than styling, though. “This project isn’t just about aesthetics,” Ford color and materials designer Bhavna Mistry says. “It’s about honoring the people who rely on their gear and their trucks to build the world, ensuring the interior is as tough and purposeful as the legacy that inspired it.” Go behind the scenes of the Ford Super Duty Carhartt package to meet the designers who built it and the hardworking people who inspired it in our latest Ford fromtheroad.ford.com feature. #WeAreFord #FordCareers #FordSuperDuty Join a team that gets the work done: careers.ford.com.

In the latest episode of DRIVE, Jim Farley sits down with actor Tom Pelphrey for a deep dive into the discipline of the craft. From the importance of separating personal identity from a professional career to the role sobriety played in his self-reflection, Tom shares how focusing on the work itself instead of the outcome transformed his performance and his life. Tune in to this candid conversation on success, family, and the open road.
I had a great conversation with actor Tom Pelphrey on this week's DRIVE. We talked about our love of road trips and quality family time, but what stayed with me most was his thoughtful perspective on success, identity, and what it takes to stay grounded in who you are while navigating life and career. Built for the grit. Inspired by the trades. There was no better way to reveal the 2027 Ford Super Duty Carhartt than with a celebration of the essential workers who inspired it. Thank you to Niko Moon for bringing the "good vibes" to Detroit as we honored the contractors, utility crews, and first responders who rely on F-Series every day. Two icons. One mission. Built for the people who build America.

Most people have to look for a mentor when they’re starting out in their careers. Senior purchasing manager and fourth-generation Ford employee Kristy Minielly, MBA just had to look across the dinner table. Kristy’s mom, Sandy, worked in Manufacturing Finance for 22 years at the Dearborn Truck Plant, where she also met Kristy’s father, Ken, who worked in Global Manufacturing Leadership. Though she’s retired now, Sandy’s career at Ford—as well as many Bring Your Child to Work Day experiences—helped inspire Kristy's own journey. Happy Mother’s Day to a dynamic mother and daughter duo, and to hardworking moms everywhere. #WeAreFord #FordCareers #HappyMothersDay Whether you’re the first generation or fourth, join us at www.careers.ford.com.

At Michigan Central, we asked ourselves what happens when a breakthrough idea meets legacy industrial manufacturing? Our innovation ecosystem of more than 250+ member organizations is designed to answer exactly that. More than just a campus with advanced prototyping labs, our ecosystem is actively connecting innovators with the global expertise that they need to scale and deploy real-world mobility solutions. Take our work with Sharrow Marine and Ford Motor Company example-- Sharrow came to Michigan Central with a TIME award-winning marine propeller design, but faced a major bottleneck: the manufacturing process took 130-days, or the equivalent of a full boating season. But through collaboration with our team and access to our network, that production time is now down to as little as two weeks. The result? Rapid scaling, expansion into a new 60,000 SF facility, and utilization of Metro Detroit foundries to meet global demand. This is what we are building at Michigan Central. An ecosystem where strategic connections are driving tangible business outcomes and real-world economic impact. Watch the video below to get a behind-the-scenes look at how this was done, and how Michigan Central is positioning Detroit as the innovation capital for helping companies like Sharrow grow. On today's new episode of DRIVE, Jim Farley hears from Mike Rowe on the experiences from his upbringing and hands-on "dirty jobs" that made him who he is today. Give it a listen now.
You probably know Mike Rowe from his show Dirty Jobs (or recognize his voice from narrating Deadliest Catch and other shows), but you may not know some of the stories he shares on this week’s episode of DRIVE. I loved learning about his upbringing, and the experiences and skills he’s picked up from getting his hands dirty on and off camera. Watch the episode now on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/gSi8VCqW. From a secret floor at the Piquette Avenue Plant in 1907 to the state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle Development Center (EVDC) today, the "skunkworks" spirit is in our DNA. This facility is the physical manifestation of this philosophy, purpose-built with the tools, development capabilities and talent that allows Ford to accelerate design, development, and validation of vehicles and software in-house. This team is leveraging their new home as well as existing talent and the industrial strength of Ford to scale our Universal EV platform, starting with an all-new, affordable mid-size electric pickup next year. Go behind the scenes: https://lnkd.in/gjjAV_Bt
The skunkworks approach isn’t new. As many of you will know, it was first made famous by Kelly Johnson at Lockheed. Back in 1907, Henry Ford was already using some of the methodology, creating a small team to innovate on a secret floor of the Piquette Avenue Plant ultimately leading to the Model T and the moving assembly line. Four years ago, we followed that same blueprint with a small but mighty team in Irvine, California with the mission of creating a universal EV platform for a family of affordable electric vehicles. Today, the mission remains the same, but the growing team has a bigger home at the Electric Vehicle Development Center (EVDC) in Long Beach, California and Greenfield Labs in Palo Alto. EVDC isn’t just a new campus —it’s about creating an environment where we can build, test, and validate our next generation of electric vehicles, so our customers don’t have to. While some in the industry are pulling back on electric vehicles, we are building a family of affordable, high-tech vehicles starting with a mid-size electric pickup next year. Our commitment to an electric future is unwavering, and the EVDC is a physical manifestation of that. The real breakthrough here is a fundamental shift in how we work. We’ve broken down traditional silos: we have designers, engineers, supply chain experts, and manufacturing team members sitting side-by-side. It’s the agility of a startup paired with Ford’s massive industrial might. I am incredibly proud of how this team is taking the UEV platform from concept to scale. We aren’t just developing new vehicles; we are redefining how Ford will compete and will give customers more affordable electric vehicles to get really excited about.
