Our mission is to create vibrant, stable communities, in areas of opportunity, via bold and strategic initiatives, and to provide families and individuals with housing options driven by compassion and respect throughout Jefferson County. We achieve our mission by proudly administering a Housing Choice Voucher program that serves over 1,800 households across the county. We also own and operate 24 affordable communities that serve people with incomes between 0 - 90% of the AMI. We don't stop there though; we also develop new housing options in areas of opportunity and redevelop existing communities to serve our residents better. For homeowners, we manage an Emergency Home Repair program that helps those with low-incomes afford necessary repairs to keep their housing. And to top it all off, our Services Team helps to keep our residents connected to resources and provide a variety of opportunities to help our families thrive.

2026 is off to a busy start! Before we fall into the routine of things, we wanted to pause and reflect on all we achieved in 2025. We continued to support our families through in-house services, we operated our Housing Choice Voucher Program at a high-performing level, and we expanded our impact by adding new, affordable homes to our portfolio, all among other achievements. We are proud of our staff for their incredible contribution to housing Jeffco! We are eager to make 2026 an even bigger success. Stay tuned as we grow our nonprofit, break ground on new units, and continue to hold ourselves to the highest standard in each department.

Keith had two water leaks but was unable to afford the repair and, for months, was having a hard time finding financial help, until he contacted FRH. Within three weeks, Keith had both water leaks safely repaired by our friends at Colorado Custom Trim. Keith said, "being on disability, it was great to have the leaks fixed quickly and safely. Autumn refers to her home as "a sanctuary of stability... a secure foundation that has enabled my family to grow, dream, and thrive." Autumn is a Housing Choice Voucher recipient who currently works in health care and is preparing to release her very own book! She has faced challenges on her journey, but she has overcome them with the support of current and former landlords, and her housing specialist. Over the past few years, she says she has "built the stability needed to eventually transition out of the program with confidence and security." The HCV program is a lifeline for many families who provide essential services to our community and it often provides the support they need to achieve their dreams.
