🚨 THE PICTURES ARE IN. Last week, NYC's most honest conversation about financial crime happened and we didn't hold back. The CAFC NYC Roundtable, sponsored by Flagright, brought together the city's sharpest financial crime fighters from crypto, fintech, and traditional banking. But we didn't stop there. We also had the privilege of sitting across the table from Margarito Jay Flores" (of Surviving El Chapo) and Valerie Gaytan (of Cartel Wives) not to glorify a single chapter of their past, but to learn from it. Real operatives. Real answers. No filter. What came out of that room was eye-opening on every level. 💡 We learned where financial institutions across the industry actually are in their AI journey and the gap between leaders and laggards is wider than most will admit publicly. 💡 We learned what's holding some institutions back (fear, legacy infrastructure, culture) and what others are actively struggling with right now. 💡 And then came the gut punch: how our 'suspicious activity typologies' and 'high risk industries list' fail to capture how threat actors actually operate in the real world. While compliance teams are checking boxes, real-life operatives are spending loads of physical cash at luxury goods stores, at cosmetic surgery offices, and even on their children's elite private school tuition. Billions in illicit drug proceeds, along with military-grade weapons are smuggled from the U.S. into Mexico uninterrupted, and nobody blinks an eye. That's the conversation traditional training doesn't give you. To cap off an already historic evening, Margarito did a live book signing of Flagright's newest Financial Crime Compliance Handbook. 💰🥊 Want your copy? Reach out to Johnnie Adkins or Anthony Zihenni today. Thank you to the entire team for sponsoring the kind of raw, real, necessary conversations this industry desperately needs. There is no roundtable quite like a Flagright roundtable. More pics below. 👇 John C. Calderon Steven Lewis, CPA, MBA, CAMS Crystal Vargas, CAMS Marie-Noel N. And the Best Fintech Innovator of the Year award goes to… Flagright. Last week at the Baltic Fintech Awards 2026, powered by xpate, our Founder & CEO, Mike Shafro, representing the xpate jury, handed the award to the company tackling one of fintech’s biggest challenges: financial crime. It was a special moment for us. But most of all, congratulations to the whole Flagright team, well deserved!

  • 🎉 Huge congratulations to the Reap team on entering into an agreement to be acquired by Payward, Kraken’s parent company. Reap has been early to a future that is now becoming much more visible: stablecoin powered financial services as core global payments infrastructure. We’re proud to support Reap with an AI operating system for financial crime compliance operations as they scale across digital assets, global payments, and embedded finance. For companies building at this frontier, compliance cannot be a manual bottleneck. It needs to be real-time, intelligent, and operationally scalable. This milestone is a strong signal for the market: stablecoin infrastructure is maturing, and the companies building it need modern systems for risk, compliance, and operations. Congratulations to everyone at Reap. Excited for what comes next. 🚀

Fast payments only matter if the controls underneath are solid. That's the gap the Flagright partnership closes 🤝 Real-time AML monitoring is now live across Hello Clever's payment infrastructure. Every transaction is screened as it moves. Suspicious activity is flagged before it clears, not after. Compliance reporting is built into the payment flow so your team isn't manually chasing it down. What that means for your business: ✅ Your AML obligations are covered without adding headcount to manage them. Suspicious transactions are flagged before they clear. Compliance reporting comes out of your payment flow automatically. And your bank and auditor see payment flows they recognise as compliant. We said this was coming. It's live now. Read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/gCyAG2Ab Want to see it running on your own transactions? Get in touch: https://lnkd.in/gSDYK_xz

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming how financial institutions detect and prevent financial crime. In this expert interview, Madhu G Nadig, Co-Founder and CTO of Flagright, explains how AI is shifting transaction monitoring from simple alert generation to evidence-based decisioning. Traditional anti-money laundering systems often generate large volumes of alerts but struggle to resolve them efficiently. New AI-driven approaches embed investigation logic directly into monitoring rules, enabling automated tasks such as identity comparison, contextual data gathering, internal history checks, and investigation narrative drafting, while maintaining a clear audit trail. The transformation aligns with guidance from organizations such as the Financial Action Task Force, which has highlighted how advanced technologies can make anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) efforts faster, more effective, and closer to real time.
