    Great seeing Fishbeck represented at this week’s ODOT/ACEC Partnering Conference. Richard Bloch did a great job moderating a panel discussion to help facilitate meaningful conversations around Emerging Smart Mobility Technology across Ohio. Always a great conference to connect with industry partners (and siblings, if you're lucky 🙂) and hear perspectives from agencies and firms working to move projects forward throughout the state.

    Today, Fishbeck welcomed community members from the IIDA Michigan Chapter as we hosted the 2026 Detroit Finish 2 Fashion Kick-Off event in our Farmington Hills office! 🎉 We started the evening with some delicious munchies and networking, followed by the reveal of this year’s theme, Otherworldly Botanicals, and ended the night with a flower bar! 💐 At Fishbeck, we truly value the work of our team and the effort we put into connecting with the community through creative outlets and advocacy. I’m always amazed by the incredible people I meet every day, and I continue to feel grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such talented individuals, including our very own Lindsay Grab, IIDA, LEED GA, IIDA President-Elect, and Claudia P., former Vice President. Girlhood was Ingy El-Hennawy, AIA, NCARB, Iryna Olkhovetska, Sumer Hazime, and me spending the night being everyone’s biggest cheerleaders. These ladies are all incredibly talented in the work they’ve done and continue to do, and I’m constantly inspired by the people around me. Feeling very grateful to be part of such a supportive and amazing team. It’s safe to say I’m definitely in the right place and couldn’t be happier! ☺️ So like, 🧍♀️ Sorry to say it, but yeah… our firm’s basically cooler than yours. 💅 They let me vlog, and here’s basically how it went. 📸👀

    As the semester comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on my second rotation with Fishbeck this spring. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to return, as this experience was once again incredibly rewarding and full of growth. As a Seasonal Municipal Technician, I gained exposure to many facets of municipal engineering. My work ranged from managing flow‑monitoring and rainwater data to assisting with design drawings in Civil 3D to contributing to technical reports. I was glad to apply the CAD skills I developed over the summer while continuing to learn in new areas. I also appreciated the chance to get hands‑on field experience, which helped me better understand sewer and utility design. Two skills I relied on most were adaptability and effective communication. Being able to stay flexible and juggle multiple tasks at once helped me with my time management and allowed me to adjust when tasks shifted or new tasks came up. With multiple people contributing to a project, communicating clearly and often is vital. This rotation helped me improve these skills, and I hope to continue to strengthen them in the future. A highlight of the term was getting to work with people outside my immediate team. Being involved in a variety of projects and tasks gave me the chance to see and learn from different perspectives while broadening my understanding of the work required for a project or report. My advice to future co‑ops or interns is to say “yes” and take advantage of the opportunities that come your way. I was fortunate to attend events and meetings that pushed me outside my comfort zone, and each one helped me grow professionally and build meaningful connections. I want to thank both Municipal teams in Cincinnati and Dayton, especially my Team Lead, Dane Brown, for welcoming me back and once again allowing me to be a part of such a rewarding work experience. Even in a short time, I learned so much from the experienced engineers around me. Looking ahead to this summer, I’m excited to be participating in the UD Faculty‑Led Engineering in Florence program. I can’t wait to learn about sustainability and engineering from an international perspective and bring those experiences back with me! #udaytoncoopintern University of Dayton School of Engineering

    💧We want to recognize Drinking Water Week across Michigan and the important role safe, reliable drinking water plays in our communities every day. Our municipal team has supported multiple Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) programs for communities across the state, helping improve and maintain critical water infrastructure for residents throughout Michigan. 💧We also encourage everyone to learn more about their local water supply and the steps we can all take to help protect drinking water for future generations! Thank you to the water professionals, operators, engineers, and public agencies working every day to keep clean water flowing across our communities. #DrinkingWaterWeek

    We kicked off our 2026 Intern Orientation with two days full of learning and FUN! From an engaging leadership panel to a Cinco de Mayo evening filled with delicious food and bocce ball, our interns had the chance to connect with teams across our firm and each other. Day two brought an opportunity to serve alongside Feeding America West Michigan before wrapping up the week with lunch together. Thank you to our panel speakers, our incredible OE team for creating such a meaningful experience, and most importantly, our interns for choosing to spend their summer with us! We can’t wait to see what this group accomplishes in the months ahead!☀️

    I had a great time with the Fishbeck Indianapolis/Fishers team at Topgolf supporting the WTS Indianapolis Swings for Scholarships event! It’s a solid day when you can mix friendly competition with an even better cause. Helping support scholarships and opportunities for the next generation of women in transportation!
