We're taking this show on the road! 🎉 I'm excited to announce that Mary Jo Scarpitti and I will be presenting at the CA Department of Health Care Services Substance Use Disorder Integrated Care Conference this Fall! We applied to share about #FatherJoesVillages expertise in operating pet-inclusive recovery programming with hopes that other service providers in attendance will consider offering co-sheltering in their programs. Mary Jo and I both love our fur babies dearly (some current and former furry family members are pictured here) - they're a big part of why we believe so strongly in co-sheltering. FJV's #Detox decreases the barriers to life-saving services that are commonly experienced by unhoused community members that are accompanied by pets 💙 #SitStayHeal #HealthCareForAll #RecoveryIsPossible #CoSheltering #FJV #VillageHealthCenter #DetoxProgram

Myth Busters 🧠💭 Is it true that mental health care is not effective for people experiencing homelessness, or is that a harmful misconception? For Mental Health Awareness Month, Sarah Carreira, MD, Family & Psychiatry Physician at Father Joe’s Villages, shares why access to mental health care can make a powerful difference in someone’s journey toward healing and stability. Mental health support, compassionate care, and human connection matter at every stage of recovery. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #FatherJoesVillages #MentalHealthMatters #EndHomelessness #SanDiego

Impact by Numbers ✨ In 2025, Father Joe’s Villages provided 217,574 shelter beds for individuals and families in need across San Diego. A safe place to sleep can change everything. Every shelter bed offers comfort, security, and the chance for someone to take the next step toward rebuilding their life. Yesterday, we celebrated the amazing women of the Ladies Guild during their Annual Installation Mass and Ceremony 💞✨ We honored outgoing board members, welcomed new leadership and members, and celebrated each new inductee as they received a red ribbon and cross. Following the ceremony, the Ladies Guild presented Deacon Jim with a generous check from their yearlong fundraising efforts supporting children in our programs and their families. 👏 We are so grateful for the compassion, dedication, and joy the Ladies Guild brings to our mission year after year. 💐 #FatherJoesVillages #LadiesGuild #CommunitySupport #SanDiego #EndHomelessness #Nonprofit #RebuildingLives #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors

Mental health support should never come with conditions. 💛 For Mental Health Awareness Month, we asked Sarah Carreira, MD, Family & Psychiatry Physician at Father Joe’s Villages, to bust a common myth: that therapy or psychiatric care only works if someone seeks help entirely on their own. The truth is, healing often begins with connection and meeting people where they are. At Father Joe’s Villages, we know that compassionate support can make all the difference in helping our neighbors take the first step toward stability. ✨ Everyone deserves a chance to be supported through life’s challenges. 🫂 #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #FatherJoesVillages #EndHomelessness #MentalHealthMatters #HealthcareForAll

Last Saturday our community came together in a powerful way at Father Joe’s Villages’ 41st Annual Children’s Champions Gala. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community, we raised more than $1.6 million in support of children and families working toward stability, hope, and brighter futures. A heartfelt thank you to our Honorary Chairs, Andrea & Greg McMullen, for your leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment in helping bring this meaningful evening to life. Congratulations as well to our Advocate Sponsor Award recipients, Robert Svatos and Ellen Svatos, and to our Visionary Corporate Partner Award recipient, Qualcomm Foundation Qualcomm Cristiano R. Amon, for your extraordinary support and impact within our community. The evening was a meaningful reminder of what is possible when a community comes together with compassion, purpose, and a shared commitment to our neighbors in need. We are deeply grateful to our donors, partners, volunteers, and guests who continue advancing our mission to prevent and end homelessness, one life at a time. 🧩 Together, we are helping create pathways to stability, dignity, and belonging for children and families across our community.

This is what community looks like in action. We are so grateful for you and the impact you made. Thank you for being part of something so meaningful! 🧩 #ChildrensChampions #CommunityImpact #HopeStartsHere #EndHomelessness #GiveBack #Nonprofit

Today we kick off National Nurses Week! 🩺 At Father Joe’s Villages, we are proud to honor the incredible nurses who bring compassion, clinical expertise, and deep humanity to every neighbor they care for. 💙 Every day, our nurses provide more than essential medical, behavioral, and mental health care. They offer comfort, build trust, and help individuals experiencing homelessness take important steps toward healing and stability. Whether responding in moments of crisis or supporting long-term wellness, they meet each person where they are and treat them with dignity, respect, and care. ✨ To our extraordinary nursing team, THANK YOU for the hope and healing you bring to our neighbors and community each and every day. 🫶 #NationalNursesWeek #FatherJoesVillages #HealthcareWithHeart #EndHomelessness #SanDiego
