  • Innovation is happening right here in Everett. 🚀 Mayor Cassie Franklin had the opportunity to attend the student showcase at Washington State University Everett and see firsthand the incredible creativity, talent and problem-solving skills of local students. From engineering and technology projects to ideas connected to real-world challenges our City and region are working to address; it was inspiring to see students developing solutions that could help shape the future of our community. Everett is proud to be home to a growing hub for innovation, education and workforce development — and today’s students are a big part of that momentum. Go Everett Cougs! ❤️🤍

  • It’s National Police Week — a time to recognize the men and women who serve our community every day and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. At the City of Everett, we’re grateful for the officers, detectives, professional staff and regional partners who work around the clock to help keep our community safe. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but it makes a difference in neighborhoods across our city every single day. This week, we also honor the officers who gave their lives in service and the families who carry that sacrifice with them forever. Join us in thanking law enforcement professionals for their service. 💙

  • Meet the people behind the counter, and the heart, of City Hall 💙 We're shining a spotlight on My Maychrzak, an Office Assistant in the Clerk’s Office. For My, the job is all about the city's people. Whether someone comes in with a quick question or a more complicated concern, she leads with kindness. “Even if someone is frustrated, I always try to greet them with a smile,” she says. “Sometimes people just want to be heard. I may not always have the answer right away, but I can always help point them in the right direction.” And what keeps her grounded? Her team! “We’re really supportive and collaborative. If one of us is struggling, someone else jumps in to help. Having that second set of eyes makes all the difference.” Outside of work, My enjoys exploring Everett with her husband and their dog Diogi, especially along the waterfront and around Smith Island for bird watching. My is also a lifelong gamer! She even met her husband while playing an online video game, and they carried that shared passion into their wedding. As she puts it, “We’re each other’s player two.” 🎮 Thank you, My, for the care and compassion you bring to our community every day! Want to join the City's team? • The Outdoor Event Center project is on the agenda for this week's Council meeting. At Wednesday's midday meeting, Council will consider taking action on series of ordinances that move this project forward: allocating funding to complete design work, continue negotiations for property acquisitions, and approve related contracts needed to keep momentum going. This work gets us one step closer to bringing a completed design and a full funding package to Council later this summer. We’re also proud to share that we’ve reached key agreements with our partners. These are long-term agreements that help set the foundation for the project’s success, including how the facility will be operated into the future. There’s still more work ahead, but we’re making thoughtful, steady progress on a project that has the potential to serve our community for generations to come.
