The maker markets and craft fairs that are pulling the best attendance numbers right now have something in common, and it's not their vendor lineup. It's that they gave people something to do. There's a real shift happening in what attendees expect from in-person events. Showing up to browse and maybe buy something used to be enough. It isn't anymore, or at least, it's not what drives the kind of word-of-mouth that fills your event year over year. People are coming to these events because they want to feel like they're part of something. They want to learn something, make something, run into people who care about the same things they do. The shopping is almost secondary to that experience. The events doing this well aren't necessarily the biggest or best-funded ones. They're the ones that thought intentionally about what happens between the booths. We're talking about small things like interactive workshops or a demonstration from one of the vendors. These experiences give a reason to linger that isn't just "keep browsing." They change the texture of the whole event and give attendees a story to tell when someone asks how it was. It also compounds. An attendee who learned something at your event or made something with their hands is not going to say "it was cool." They're going to describe it specifically, to specific people. That word-of-mouth is what builds an audience that comes back. If you're planning your event season right now, look beyond your vendor list and ask yourself, "what are people going to do here?" The answer to that second question is increasingly what separates the events people talk about from the ones they forget. #eventproduction #makersmarket

Vendor placement is where the attendee experience actually gets built or broken. The most successful events on Eventeny all avoid this one very common mistake: clustering. Three candle vendors in a row. A full section of jewelry booths. It happens because applications get approved in batches and get dropped into whatever space is available. While this makes sense logistically, from an attendee's perspective the merchandise gets repetitive and they stop engaging. The sense of discovery, which is what keeps people walking and spending, disappears. The fix is intentional variety as you plan the layout. Different categories next to each other. Food near retail. Art near accessories. The goal is that every twenty steps feels like something new. The other two things that matter most: flow and density. Attendees shouldn't have to figure out how to navigate your event, the layout should make it obvious. And no matter how tempting it is to maximize booth count, a crowded space isn't a profitable one. People who feel overwhelmed leave. People who feel comfortable browse longer and buy more. The math on giving vendors a little breathing room usually works out. #eventprofs #makersmarket #eventproduction

There's a lot of data right now pointing to the same thing: people want to be somewhere together. Attendance numbers at live events are up. Vendor applications are up. Press interest in in-person experiences is rising. The organizers positioned best for this moment aren't necessarily the ones with the biggest marketing budgets. They're the ones who built the right systems before the surge hit: SEO-optimized event pages, streamlined vendor onboarding, clean attendee data. The unglamorous infrastructure that makes the exciting growth possible. The attendee data is clear: building community is back. The question now is whether you've built something ready to meet the rising demand for in-person experiences. Read our full thoughts below.

A single superstar's residency can inject hundreds of millions of dollars into a local economy. What can event organizers learn from this? Bad Bunny’s 31-show residency in Puerto Rico serves as a powerful case study on the real economic impact of live events. The numbers are impressive: - An estimated $250 million direct economic boost for Puerto Rico. - $400-$750 million in total spending related to the shows. - 24% year-over-year increase in island hotel occupancy, strategically timed during the tourism off-season. This isn't just a lesson for world tours. As we explore in our latest blog post, events of all sizes create "mini economic explosions" that benefit local businesses and communities. Your festival or market is an economic engine. Ready to understand and maximize your event's financial footprint? Read the full post below to learn how to apply these insights to your own planning. #EventProfs #EconomicImpact #EventPlanning

As an event organizer, reaching your ideal customer and boosting attendance at your upcoming events can be tough, especially if you rely only on traditional advertising. That's why we recommend embracing a marketing approach that utilizes cross-promotion strategies. When a trusted voice shares your event or case studies from previous successes, you create a sense of community around your event and drive increasing sales among both existing customers and new prospects. Ultimately, cross-promotion is about building customer relationships, providing value, and delivering measurable results. By making it a core part of your marketing mix, you position your event for greater success. Read our thoughts below ⬇️
