We've launched Solar Window in the Emporia app, and it fixes something that has frustrated a lot of customers with solar setups. If you have both Excess Solar and Smart Saver enabled, you have probably noticed that your charger runs overnight on schedule but solar charging sessions never seem to happen. The reason: Excess Solar only activates when the charger is off, but Smart Saver keeps the charger on during off-peak hours. The two features were working against each other. Solar Window resolves this. It defines a time period, sunrise to sunset by default, during which your charger will only run if solar is available. If solar is there, charging starts. If not, the charger waits. Your Smart Saver schedule still runs outside that window. And if you ever need to charge immediately, an override button lets you bypass Solar Window and charge at full power. It resets automatically when you unplug. Available now in app version 4.10.0. We've updated the usage charts in the Emporia app to make your energy data easier to navigate and more useful. Three changes: 1. Filter chips let you switch between live and past mode, change time windows, and toggle units in one tap 2. Chart drill-down lets you tap any bar for exact values, then zoom in one level at a time, all the way from year to minute 3. Custom date picker lets you jump to any date and time directly, with chart resolution that adapts automatically For EV charger customers, drill-down means you can now see the actual shape of a charging session.
