Why are hyperscalers standardizing on DroneDeploy? (Part 1) An industry partner asked this question the other day so I thought I’d share a few thoughts on hyperscalers, followed by an interview with Matt Craske, who used to head up Google’s Global Program Controls division. The answer is pretty simple. Here's my biased-but-informed POV: 1. Autonomous capture – this is a no brainer. Large sites are a huge task for humans to capture. Docked drones are the new gold standard for autonomous aerial data, and with Embodied AI we’ve added ground robots (including American-made rovers) to the mix for a complete capture of the site, inside and out. Hyperscalers are looking for the partner that can make the capture process disappear, so they can stop begging humans to do it. 2. A unified platform – less software is better, and entry-level aerial data is not going to cut it when you’re tracking tens of thousands of yards of dirt on a project moving at the speed of AI. Hyperscalers aren’t looking for point solutions that require separate apps for flight or robotic mission execution. They’re looking for one company to be accountable from the flight or ground robot capture to the end deliverable reporting. 3. Agents made with modern AI, not offshore humans – if it’s taking 12+ hours or longer to return a progress report, that’s a team of offshore humans, not an agent. Hyperscalers are realizing they can get progress data without exposing their sensitive intellectual property to offshore teams. They’re getting reports in minutes not hours. In the Matt's video we'll cover: 1. Use cases in data center construction 2. How reality capture gives all teams an objective truth, the site in a time capsule 3. ROI, "we've blown past the 5x ROI target" #datacenters #construction #realitycapture #programcontrols
