El Paso was ranked the #1 Best Big City to Live in the US after already ranking #2 last year. This wasn’t luck. El Paso earned it. At a time when much of the country is facing rising costs, El Paso continues to offer a strong sense of community, connection, and an affordable quality of live compared to other big cities. The U.S. News determined this ranking based on a data-driven methodology that measured what Americans said matters most when choosing where to live. The final score is based on the following categories such as Value Index, Quality of Life, Desirability, and Job Market. Other factors: Cost of Living: The national average home value is $359,870, while El Paso’s median home value is $196,914, offering significantly more affordability compared to similarly sized cities. Commute Time: 20.9 minutes on average, which is about 1.3 minutes shorter than the national average. Job Market: El Paso’s unemployment rate is lower than the national average of 4.54%, reflecting stronger-than-expected stability in employment. The incredible Sun City we call home offers deep cultural roots, a vibrant bicultural mix, delicious food, sunny weather, and everyday friendliness, and you can feel it everywhere you go.
