  • Meet the design 🐐: John Voss Thanks for the daily dose of design content Jayneil Dalal

This is how an IC designer fixed the design crit process after becoming the Head of Design! Most design crits are broken!! Designers are attending it for visibility rather than getting craft feedback. But my biggest pet peeve is when designers give feedback during crit without having context of the project or constraints. To fix these issues John Voss implemented a 2 question rule. Here's how it works - after a designer is done presenting during crit the team has to ask 2 questions before anyone can give feedback on the designs. This forces the team to get background context before jumping to give feedback. 👀 Full conversation on Sneak Peek: https://lnkd.in/gg8RDQrM Here's how the Descript design team uses the 2 question rule during crits👇

  • Founders are on the video team now

Win $5,000 while building pipeline for your startup. That's not a typo. That's the 30 Day Content Challenge. There are more products launching than ever. AI made that possible. That also means more noise, more competition, and more founders fighting for the same attention. The moat in 2026 isn't your product. It's your voice. Your distribution. Your ability to build trust publicly. The hard part isn't building anymore. The hard part is getting people to care. Most founders never start creating content. It feels uncomfortable. Putting yourself out there feels vulnerable. That's the whole point. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. That's where authority gets built. Today we're launching the 30 Day Content Challenge inside Founder Social Club. We partnered with Kevin M. Sloan and the team at Descript to make sure every founder in this challenge has the tools to actually create great content, even if you've never touched a video editor. → Pick your crew: AI, Fintech, Consumer, Healthtech, Climate, Deeptech, Edtech, or Outlier → Post consistently over 30 days → Weekly themes: social content, product demos, founder-led growth, team stories → Every week ships with a Descript walkthrough so you can record, edit, caption, and publish → Earn points from consistency and community votes → Climb the leaderboard → $5,000 grand prize You don't have to post every day. Just show up. Build the muscle. Let it compound into the trust, credibility, and inbound that actually grows your business. The winner isn't decided by follower count. It's decided by consistency, storytelling, and community votes. 36K+ founders. Free to enter. Starts today at 3 PM PT. Tag a founder who needs to join this. The more founders in, the better the competition gets. Sign up and get Descript - joinfsc1.com #FSC1 #FounderSocialClub #MadeWithDescript

  • We spent 48 hours building customer requests. And live streamed it all to the world. 70 tickets shipped. $14K donated to the Sierra Club. Several people visibly reconsidered their life choices on camera. This is the inside story of Descript’s first customer-obsessed Telethon Hackathon.

  • You know you should be posting more video content on LinkedIn Join us live this afternoon, and we'll show you how easy it can be ⏬

The Revenge of the Idea Guy At Stripe Sessions, Sam Altman spoke about how for decades the “idea guy” couldn’t win in tech. Ideas were cheap. Execution was everything. But AI changed the game. This is the shift I’ve been thinking about: As execution becomes easier, differentiation becomes the bottleneck. That changes what actually creates advantage. For years, market value looked like this: Market Value = IP × Marketing × Sales Now: Market Value = Capability × Discoverability × Signal Strong product + weak discoverability = invisible. Visibility without real differentiation = difficult to sustain. Clear positioning without substance = short-lived. So what actually drives market value now? • How to ship 2x more video content with the same team Every video needs editing. Finishing one still takes longer than it should. Production teams sit on a queue. Solo producers do everything themselves. Either way, raw footage piles up, deadlines move, and videos that should already be live aren't. See how teams use Descript to move from raw recording to publish-ready in a single workflow: text-based editing, AI audio cleanup, and revisions without re-exports. Live demo included. **What you'll walk away with:** ➔ A repeatable rough-edit-to-final-edit flow you can use on your next project ➔ Cleaner audio from remote and Zoom recordings without bouncing between tools ➔ Faster revisions that don't require re-recording hosts or talent ➔ One project that becomes the full video, the clips, and the supporting assets

Over the past 5 years, I've edited thousands of conference videos. Most of them by hand, like a caveman. Dragging clips. Cutting audio. Manually deleting every "uh" and every awkward pause. Full ooga bunga, caveman-style editing. Then I found Descript. Now it does the thinking for me: → Edit video like a document → AI audio cleanup → Filler word removal → Auto captions → Fix bad takes without re-recording I went from caveman to video editing machine. Same workload. A fraction of the time. And significantly less suffering. Try Descript: https://lnkd.in/ekEAYPqN If you're still doing a lot of your video work by hand, there's a better way.
