A note to future you: The biggest shift this year was not clinical. It was perspective. You stop seeing individual moments and you start seeing the system. How care is coordinated. How teams function together. How decisions scale beyond a single patient. That is where real growth happens. At VA, residents are learning inside a health care system designed to serve Veterans across the country, not just in isolated settings, but as part of a connected network. That experience builds clinicians who understand how to operate, improve, and lead within complex systems. Explore what comes next: https://lnkd.in/g_Ev6CtJ #NextGenVA #VACareers

The Department of Veterans Affairs today announced that 78% of VA hospitals that received an Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating earned four or five stars in the latest annual report from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. That’s the highest percentage since CMS first started rating VA facilities in 2023. Additionally, VA accounted for nearly 15% of all 5-star rated hospitals in the 2026 report. The new report marks the fourth consecutive year that VA facilities have outperformed non-VA facilities, and it’s the second year in a row that no VA hospital received a one-star rating.

The Specialty Education Loan Repayment Program is one of the ways VA supports clinicians beyond the role itself. Eligible positions may qualify for loan repayment, alongside structured career growth, mobility, and a team-based approach to care. It’s not just about where you start. It’s about how you’re supported over time. Application deadline is May 31, 2026. See how the full picture comes together: https://lnkd.in/e383r8Hg #NextGenVA
