    OpenAI just turned ChatGPT Ads into a real ad-tech platform. Five tech partners and CPC bidding landed in the same week. This is the week ChatGPT Ads stopped looking like a beta. OpenAI shipped CPC bidding, confirmed they're working with the big four agency HoldCo's, integrated five ad-tech platforms, and added a full set of Ads Manager updates. The CPC mechanics are standard. $3–5 USD starting bid, second-price auction, the kind of setup anyone running Google Ads will recognise. What shipped on the platform: 🛒 CPC bidding is live in the US, with a Clicks objective and a red/yellow/green bid strength indicator to help advertisers calibrate. 🛒 Bulk CSV workflows, conversion events via the OpenAI pixel, role-based access (Admin/Member/Viewer), sortable tables, ad-level spend, average CPC and CTR reporting. Standard DSP plumbing, finally in place. 🛒 An "Ask ChatGPT" button is being tested below ads. Users can interrogate creative with the LLM before clicking through. Those interactions aren't billed. The more interesting question is who's now plugging into it. The partner roster is the bigger story: Agency partners: dentsu, Omnicom, Publicis, WPP Tech partners: Adobe (creative + analytics), Criteo (#RetailMedia DSP), Kargo (rich media), Pacvue (campaign management aggregator), StackAdapt (independent DSP) That list is unusually broad for an early-stage platform, but the ambition is equaly large. Pacvue and Criteo plugging in shows ChatGPT Ads is being positioned as a retail media surface, not just a search competitor. Adobe brings the creative and measurement layer. Kargo handles premium formats. StackAdapt is the independent DSP route in. The Big Four bring the demand. OpenAI isn't trying to build a parallel ad ecosystem. It's plugging into the existing stack at every layer at once. For brands and advertisers: CPC means real accountability finally lands on ChatGPT Ads. Pay for engagement, not for vibes. The "Ask ChatGPT" button is the more interesting strategic opportunity / challenge. Your ad has to survive being talked about, not just looked at. Strong stories get a free pre-qualification layer. Shaky ones get exposed by the LLM sitting next to the creative. The bigger picture: ChatGPT Ads just moved from concept to media plan line item. The Big Four don't sign up to side projects, equally Adobe, Criteo, and Pacvue don't integrate with them either.
