Just wrapped our #CyberSat Advisory Board call. CSOs, CIOs, researchers, and operators from across the space and defense worlds joined our program chair, Mark H., to discuss key program themes for CyberSat 2026. Here's what's on their minds. → AI isn't just an attack vector; it's a governance crisis. Who's accountable when an autonomous system in space makes a bad call? How do defense-adjacent companies decide which models they're even allowed to use? Nobody has a clean answer yet, and that conversation is coming to the CyberSat stage. → Space still isn't designated critical infrastructure in the US. The board had a lot to say about what that gap is actually costing us, in funding, in supply chain protection, and in national security. → The lunar economy is moving fast, and cybersecurity is barely part of the conversation. With missions underway and international competition intensifying, we need to change. → Defense-adjacent companies are navigating AI model governance in real time, with no established guidelines and a federal government that's still figuring out its own position. That tension deserves a real conversation. Also excited to welcome Christina Shuffield, CIO at Speedcast, to the Advisory Board this year. Great to have her perspective at the table. November can't come soon enough. Learn more and register at www.cybersatsummit.com. 🎟️ Launch Rate pricing is active through Friday, May 29. #CyberSat #SpaceSecurity #Cybersecurity

Some moments from our last #CyberSat are still sticking with us. The conversations that started in the hallways carried over into dinner. The connections that didn't end when the event did. There's something that happens when cyber, satellite, and space leaders are all in the same room. As AI dominates headlines and autonomous agents rewrite the rules of cyber warfare, we keep coming back to the leaders on the frontline, the ones who can't wait for the technology to catch up. They're making decisions now, on critical systems, in real time. We're excited to bring the community together again this November 2–5 in Reston, VA. You can learn more here: https://lnkd.in/dvrxK2D 🛰️ In recognition of all that you're doing, take 15% off registration with code CYBERLEADERS through May 14!

CyberSat Exchange at #SATShow was just a taste of what’s coming. The 10th annual #CyberSat Summit is November 2-5 in Reston and Chantilly, VA. Four days covering the emerging threats defining the future of space security: AI-driven attacks, multi-orbit vulnerabilities, supply chain risks, and securing the next frontier of cislunar and on-orbit computing. Plus a live crisis simulation with Space ISAC and a classified program for TS/SCI-cleared professionals at The Aerospace Corporation. Same community from DC. Bigger stage. At SATShow Week in March, we launched something new in partnership with CyberSat Summit: CyberSat Exchange at SATShow. 🚀 CyberSat Exchange brought together leaders from across the space and cybersecurity communities for focused conversations on securing the future of space systems. This inaugural event created space for meaningful peer-to-peer discussions, interactive roundtables, and candid insights from operators, CISOs, government leaders, and industry experts. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Washington, DC and helped make the first CyberSat Exchange such a success. Here’s a look back at some moments from the event ⬇️📸

We recently wrapped up the #CyberSat Call for Presentations, and the depth of submissions says a lot about where space and satellite cybersecurity is headed. Across the board, teams are focused on securing increasingly complex architectures, understanding where AI introduces risk, and operating with limited visibility across space and ground systems. Program Chair Mark H., alongside our advisory board and technical task force, will begin reviews soon. Topics submitted this cycle include: 🔸 Post-quantum cryptography for LEO/MEO/GEO – including PQC-enabled TLS 1.3 under MTU constraints 🔸 On-orbit intrusion detection and autonomous cyber response without physical access 🔸 AI/ML at the edge for anomaly detection under SWaP constraints 🔸 Hardware roots of trust, PUFs, and measured boot for lifecycle-long satellite integrity 🔸 Ground segment defense-in-depth – from OT protocols to zero trust enforcement 🔸 Cyber-physical risk quantification and how insurance frameworks are catching up 🔸 AI governance in space operations: securing the command and control layer as AI gets embedded in mission systems Before the program locks, what's missing? If there's a threat vector, capability gap, or policy question you're not seeing addressed in the space cyber conversation, drop it in the comments. Mark and the board are reading. 📅 Launch rates end May 29! Learn more and register at www.CyberSatSummit.com. #CyberSat #SpaceCybersecurity #SatelliteSecurity #ZeroTrust #PostQuantum #SpaceSecurity

The CyberSat 2026 Call for Presentations closes this Friday. Annually, the program comes together from what people choose to bring forward. And the sessions that land best are the ones rooted in real work. That’s what you see in prior years' speaker lineups. People like Alexis B., Gregory Falco, LEED AP, Erin M. Miller, Vinit Duggal, Philip Mar, Daniel Austin, Lisa Costa, PhD CS, MBA, James Curbo, 🛰️ William Ferguson, and others. Along with teams from the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), The Aerospace Corporation, and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Different roles, different organizations, but all working through the same core issues: securing systems that are getting more complex, more connected, and more exposed. If you’re working through something right now – a challenge, a deployment, a gap you’re trying to close – that’s what should be part of the conversation. Submit today: https://lnkd.in/eZuk7xtK 📢 CyberSat 2026 CFP deadline: Friday, April 10. If it’s relevant to what others are dealing with, it’s worth submitting. Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/edRv9iKm

How fast are cyber threats to space evolving? Try the last two weeks. At #CyberSat Exchange (March 26), Vinit Duggal (SES Satellites), Norm Laudermilch (Vantor), Philip Mar (Viasat), and Asit Tandon (Telesat) will discuss how the threat landscape for satellite systems is shifting in real time – including the surge in cyber activity linked to Iran and the broader Middle East conflict. 🎤 Moderated by Via Satellite's Mark H. — The CISO Perspective: How the World Is Changing for Space Industry CISOs, will cover: • Nation-state cyber activity targeting space infrastructure • What satellite operators are seeing right now • How companies are adapting defenses in real time • What comes next for space cybersecurity This is one of the first opportunities to hear space industry cybersecurity leaders discuss these developments publicly. https://lnkd.in/e-EhuwTy 📍 Walter E. Space systems aren’t static anymore 🛰️ AI is embedded in operations. Constellations are scaling. Architectures are hybrid across commercial, civil, and defense environments. The next 10 years won’t be about protecting satellites. They’ll be about securing autonomous space infrastructure. That’s why we built #CyberSat Exchange. On March 26 in Washington, DC, the government, military, CISOs, CTOs, and operators will step into a focused, half-day forum to stress test real-world space cyber decisions. On the agenda: 🔸 AI-enabled defense across end-to-end space systems 🔸 The evolving realities of the space industry CISO 🔸 Roundtables on quantum risk, supply chain exposure, resilient architectures, and Space Force cyber strategy 🔸 Strategic perspective from CISA and the FBI Cyber Division If space is becoming autonomous, the security conversation has to evolve with it.
