A few weeks ago, Avy Stein and I had the pleasure to host Alexis Ohanian Sr. for a dinner. When reflecting on the conversation, what stayed with me was the consistency of his principles. He spoke about the early days of entrepreneurship, when rejection became the beginning of Reddit, reflecting on the discipline required to keep building when external validation is absent. He discussed community, not as a feature of a business, but as the foundation of one. And we spent time on the future. Alexis has been investing in artificial intelligence for more than a decade, and his perspective is grounded in a builder’s mindset. One of the most compelling parts of the evening was his conviction around women’s sports. He does not frame it as charity, but as excellence, opportunity, and business. When capital, ownership, and attention are aligned with talent, entire markets can be reimagined.

Looking forward to speaking at the Forbes Top Women Advisor Summit next week on a topic that’s reshaping the future of our industry: The New Center of Gravity: Women, Wealth, and the Future of Advice. Women are increasingly at the center of wealth management, controlling more assets, influencing investment priorities, and redefining what they expect from advisors. Yet, much of our industry is still operating on outdated assumptions. I’m excited to join this conversation alongside my Cresset colleague Beth Chandler on how firms, like Cresset, are evolving to better serve today’s and tomorrow’s primary decision-maker, and what it will take to truly meet this moment. #ForbesSHOOKTopWomen SHOOK Research

Leadership is often shaped long before a career begins. In a recent Business Insider feature, Cresset CEO Susie Cranston reflects on the generations of women in her family who broadened her view of what was possible. From a grandmother who pursued advanced education in the 1940s to a mother and aunt who built pioneering careers, these examples instilled confidence, resilience, and a deep-rooted belief in belonging at the leadership table.
