As the broader P&C insurance sector softens, commercial auto continues to stand out for growth and rate increases. Speaking to The Insurer at the Target Markets Mid-Year Meeting in Dallas, Cover Whale President Kevin Abramson highlighted the sector’s continued strength: "The specialty commercial auto market has logged 13 consecutive years of rate increases, with Cover Whale pushing 13% this year." Cover Whale is continuing to gain market share in this highly competitive market, supported by its use of AI across underwriting and pricing. As one example, the WhaleIQ platform analyzes 10,000 subsegments of the portfolio in real time, surfacing trends in severity and frequency that would previously have taken a team of 20 data scientists to produce on a monthly cycle. As Abramson put it: "We are no longer keying in code. We are steering [AI] agents." Read the full article in The Insurer, here: https://lnkd.in/eXTEB7qE #CoverWhale #CommercialAuto #InsurTech

Is your book of business built for the long-haul? 🍞🚛 There are two "Bs" that can help you ensure that it is: Bread and Beverage. Bread and beverage haulers are the ultimate "sticky" risk. Regardless of what the economy does, people don't stop eating—they just stop dining out and start stocking the pantry. That means the fleets filling grocery shelves aren't just surviving market shifts; they're built for them. We recently crunched the numbers and published a blog post on this topic to show you why this "always-on" class is an agent’s best friend for retention and steady commissions (https://lnkd.in/eP8GyNUn). Check it out to learn more about building a healthy book--and be sure to send us your bread and beverage hauler risks. Cover Whale is built for speed and ready to help you win this class of business 💪

Many thanks to Sønr for the recent shoutout and for featuring Cover Whale in their esteemed Beyond Boundaries report, a comprehensive analysis of the global insurance landscape that spotlights top innovators 💪 We're grateful for the recognition!
Commercial auto is one of those lines where there’s nowhere to hide. If risk is mispriced, it shows up in the loss ratio… fast. 🚛 That’s why Cover Whale is worth a look. They’re a New York based MGA focused on connected commercial auto for trucking. The model is pretty simple: combine underwriting with real time signals (telematics, dashcams, machine learning, live data) so the risk picture can keep updating as the fleet is actually operating. What stands out is they don’t treat safety as a “nice add on”. It’s the operating model. 🛣️ A Driver Safety Programme blending continuous underwriting with dashcam monitoring and AI powered driver coaching ⚡ Fast online quote and bind built for agent workflows 📦 Trucking specific cover across the core lines (liability, cargo, vehicle and more) 📊 Real time monitoring and dynamic pricing so risk can evolve, not stay frozen at inception And if you’ve already read the report… they haven’t been sitting still. They’ve kept rolling #sorrynotsorry Auto liability expanded into Washington and New Mexico, now 41 states for liability and 46 across trucking lines. And they’ve layered in roadside support too via RoadsideMASTERS.com. This is exactly why Cover Whale sits in the Scale 50 in our Beyond Boundaries work. It’s a modern commercial auto play that’s trying to make trucking risk more sustainable: safer fleets, smarter pricing, and fewer nasty surprises. 📘 Explore the full Beyond Boundaries 2025 report → https://lnkd.in/eiQb34r2 📧 Want to get involved in Beyond Boundaries 2026? Big news for trucking agents and carriers alike. 🚛 Cover Whale has partnered with eCapital Corp. to tackle two of trucking's biggest pain points head-on: cash flow and fuel costs. Through this new partnership, truckers can get paid faster and save on fuel. And agents can earn additional commissions when their clients enroll. Everybody wins. We're excited to welcome Sage Summers to the Cover Whale team! Sage joins us as our new Production Business Relationship Manager (PBRM) Lead, bringing a truly one-of-a-kind background to the role. Before finding her home in insurance, Sage spent 7 years as a licensed physical therapy assistant — then pivoted to hospitality, which opened the door to commercial auto. Over the past 8 years, she's built deep expertise in insurance sales and growth at Progressive, Nationwide, and as an independent retail agent. Most recently, she was in the MGA insurtech startup space, where she rebuilt and scaled sales processes through a full company restructuring and rebrand. What sets Sage apart isn't just her career path — it's the way she approaches every challenge with curiosity and grit. A few things you should know about her: -She calls Charlotte, NC, home and shares life with Davet, an 11-year-old retired service dog she personally trained while supporting service members at a German/American hospital -Outside of work: rock climbing, camping, backpacking, and auto restoration - Bucket list: Kenya -Dream superpower: teleportation — but only if it comes without jet lag We're thrilled to have Sage on the team. Please join us in giving her a warm Cover Whale welcome! #WelcomeSage #CoverWhale #NewHire #CommercialAuto #InsurTech
