  • We're looking for FDEs like Tina Wu who can both drive AND ride-along (... and if that police joke doesn't make sense, it may not be a fit ... )

Closure is hiring FDEs in NYC or SF! Come build with me! Pros: - Directly contribute to a socially impactful mission - Go onsite with customers and watch your code actually help solve cases - Sit next to a detective at 9am, hear "wouldn't it be cool if ..." at 10am, and ship the feature before they leave Cons: - Politely laugh at Aaron Zelinger's non-violent animal puns like "feed two birds with one scone" - Receive a motivational speech from Alex Carter before your first coffee - Develop unrealistic expectations about how fast a feature should reach a user If you're mission-driven, thrive in ambiguity, and want full agency to do the best work of your career - let's chat 🤝

  • Fun fact: Our corporate attorney saw what we were up to and had to join the fun. (He worked at the DAs office previously so knew how valuable Closure would be to police & prosecutions) Come work with one-of-a-kind talent like Alex Carter Gilad Levy and the growing Closure team on high impact applications of AI for public safety

Thrilled to share that I've joined Closure as Head of Business Operations! The team here is one-of-a-kind: ridiculously talented, deeply dedicated, and building something I genuinely believe in. I was on site with real users on my very first day. Running a training week 2. And we're just getting started. We're hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to work alongside this crew and help shape the future of law enforcement. If you love solving hard problems with sharp people, let's talk. DMs are open. https://lnkd.in/gPJkzTCd

  • A reality of working with law enforcement is that most of our work will never be publicly known. Last week was different. Journalist Scott Thomas Anderson carefully highlighted the Closure team's work supporting Del Norte County & Placer County DAs. Not a placed ad or article, but real, in-person journalism: - In a rural agency, Del Norte County, Chief Investigator A.C. Field and his team used Closure to identify a defendant attempting to destroy evidence. Closure helped Chief Field identify the missing evidence, identify the phone’s password, and find the smoking gun. - In Placer County, Closure has been used across multiple high-profile cases (and many small ones), by prosecutors, crime analysts, and investigators to organize and close cases including the Dan Serafini homicides. This goes beyond a single source of evidence -- it's about having a trusted, verifiable partner supporting your work everyday. If you're a prosecutor, police, sheriff, or state agency looking to safely leverage AI to accelerate justice, we're here to help. If you're an engineer or generalist looking to have a massive impact at the frontier of responsible AI and government, we're hiring!

Last year, Placer County ADA Rick Miller prosecuted Dan Serafini, a former MLB Player who ambushed and murdered his father in-law, Gary Sophr, and shot his mother-in-law, Wendy Wood, in the head at their Tahoe home. More than 10 weeks of trial, post-trial hearings, and terabytes of evidence—ranging from cellular data and jail calls, to court transcripts, financial records, and drone footage—made this no simple prosecution. Despite significant obstacles, Miller, District Attorney Morgan Gire, and the Placer County DA team ultimately prevailed and justice was served. Serafini received life without parole, a flawed retrial motion was denied, and a modicum of peace was delivered to the victims’ daughters. We haven’t been able to talk about our support of this work publicly, until now. But we are grateful that journalist Scott Thomas Anderson and Comstock's Magazine found this story and highlighted how Closure helped investigators and prosecutors search, organize, and try this case, as well as countless others in Placer & Del Norte counties. Credit to DA Morgan Gire, ADA Rick Miller, Chief Green, and the whole Placer team for this win, for their great partnership over the last year, and to Scott Thomas Anderson for the careful reporting.

  • Thanks to MarketWatch for the highlight this week!! "Forward Deploying" may have become a hot term recently, but it's how our founders have operated for the last 10 years. We go where our users take us--from San Mateo and Florida to New Jersey and NYC. Closure is hiring many more FDEs to work hand-in-hand with our awesome law enforcement partners. Come join us!

  • Lots of magic at the Garden State Cold Case Conference last week!! Truly netflix-worthy work from cold case detectives across Federal, State, and Local agencies. The emphasis on human-centric detective work, in an era of AI and advanced forensic genealogy, was deeply inspiring. We are grateful to support these heroes in law enforcement. More to come.

It was great presenting at the NJ State Police Cold Case Confernce alongside Aaron Zelinger from Closure . At our office, we’ve fully embraced the use of CJIS compliant AI in our investigations, while keeping a human in the loop. Applying AI to cold cases is considered “cutting edge” today, I’m confident it will be a routine tool for every investigator in the very near future. The future of justice is here, and it’s data-driven.

  • Thanks for the invite to Reno, California Robbery Investigators Association!! We loved exploring new strategies to combat robbery series with Closure users and departments from across the country. Especially impressed by the presentations from Placer County’s DA Morgan Gire, San Francisco District Attorney's Office, and San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), among other inspiring case studies. Thanks to the detectives and DAs who doggedly pursue these cases even when there’s little or no evidence.

  • Most public safety agencies do not have the bandwidth to take on cold cases. Passionate part-timers and retired detectives often come in off the benches to carry these cases forward. When there is bandwidth, the evidence overload can be overwhelming. Thousands of files, 40-year old photos, low-quality audio clips, duplicative or contradictory reports, and lots of “noise.” Cold cases are not for the faint of heart. We are grateful for Anchorage Police Department, our DA partners, and other agencies who are bravely chipping away at at these backlogs. Thanks to Axios for highlighting this often overlooked issue in law enforcement.

  • Closure reposted this

As Closure marks its one-year anniversary of supporting police, prosecutors, and federal law enforcement, we are grateful to publicly announce our partnership with the incredible team at the San Luis Obispo County DA! From our first meeting, DA Dan Dow and Chief Terry O'Farrell saw the promise of powering their team with law enforcement-specific intelligence. Efficiency, security, and scalability were top of mind as we shaped what the partnership could look like. We've been amazed at what the SLOCo DA team has accomplished in the office and the court room already. Thrilled to continue supporting their critical mission.
