  • The 2028 NFL Draft is coming to downtown Minneapolis.    For three days, we will become the center of the football world, welcoming hundreds of thousands of fans, generating significant economic impact for local businesses, hospitality and tourism. Anchored at U.S. Bank Stadium, hundreds of thousands of fans are expected to attend the event, bringing an estimated $100 million to $200 million in economic impact to the region, according to MNSE.   “Minnesota knows how to show up for big moments, and we've seen it firsthand,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “This is a market that delivers at the highest level."

  • You may notice city assessors visiting properties in your neighborhood. It’s important you know how to identify a city assessor and what you can expect from our visit. Your safety is our top priority – if you’re not sure whether someone is a city assessor, please call 311.  City assessors will:  👷 Wear a bright yellow safety vest  🪪 Have a City of Minneapolis photo ID badge  📏 Carry a clipboard & measuring tools  Assessors may walk around and take photos of the exterior of your home. If you are not home, you may get a notice that we were here. You can also schedule an optional appointment for an interior inspection. We will never enter your home without permission.  City assessors visit properties every 5 years to help keep property values fair and accurate. • Did you know the average resident uses 52 gallons of water a day? Our water treatment plant in Fridley has the people, processes, equipment and knowledge to ensure safe and award-winning water in your tap. At the plant, a full-time laboratory tests the water more than 500 times per day to make sure it’s safe to drink and meets our drinking water standards.    The next time you fill your glass, celebrate the amazing people and systems who make it possible. Go straight for the tap!

  • From the Mississippi River to your morning cup of coffee, our water undergoes a quiet, but very important process of treatment, testing, storage and delivery. For #DrinkingWaterWeek we are celebrating the people and systems working hard to keep our drinking water safe and pristine. We’re not the only ones who say our water is excellent. Minneapolis recently received the “Best in Glass” award from the MN chapter of the American Water Works Association. This blind taste test crowned our H20 the most pristine and tasty against 14 other entries.  Curious about how it all works? Along with Minnesota Sports and Events and partners across the region, we were on the ground in Pittsburgh experiencing what it takes to host one of the biggest events in sports - the National Football League (NFL) Draft. The takeaway? This event transforms a city. We’re continuing to learn, build, and rally support as Minnesota positions itself for a future Draft.

  • The City of Minneapolis receives more than 600,000 911 calls each year. Minneapolis 911 telecommunicators are a critical part of our community safety system, supporting our community in its greatest time of need.
