Let us be clear: Detroit will enforce the law, uphold curfews, and hold violent offenders accountable because safe neighborhoods are non-negotiable. Individuals who bring guns, incite violence, disrupt public spaces, or engage in disorderly or criminal behavior will be held fully accountable. At the same time, we are continuing to invest in a safe summer for Detroit’s youth through Occupy the Summer, expanded programming, and late night recreation spaces that provide positive outlets, community, and support.
