  • In March, the team at CBA Magnolia stepped in to support their neighbors at Discount Tire during an unexpected power outage. Without electricity, the Discount Tire team was unable to complete services for their guests. After reaching out, Kyle Cordell and the Magnolia team opened their doors and equipment, helping them take care of guests and keep their day moving forward.     Look what I found in my hotel room last night!   This is a story Will Guidara , the author of Unreasonable Hospitality, will love!   Yesterday was my 25th wedding anniversary. I posted a photo on Instagram and then flew to San Antonio with Jenny for a speaking engagement with Christian Brothers Automotive.   When we checked into our room, there were chocolate covered strawberries, a cheese plate and … a framed copy of that photo! When I asked the team how that happened, they told me about the amazing Miss Kim.   She’s worked for Christian Brothers Automotive for years and loves taking care of people. One year, she saw Will Guidara speak at the Global Leadership Summit about his book. She loved his talk and started giving everyone she knew a copy of his book.   Then she started taking her own hospitality to the next level. If your favorite snack is a special popcorn from Pennsylvania, expect a bag the next time she sees you. If there’s a particular type of sparkling water you love the most, check your fridge. If you bring your wife to San Antonio for a speaking engagement, prepare to be wowed.   I’ve known what a special company Christian Brothers Automotive was for years. We took our car to their Cumming, GA location 17 years ago when we lived in Atlanta. But now I know how they do it.   • We're back in the swing of things after a fantastic week in San Antonio gathering for our Annual Convention. On Monday, Franchisees and their families, along with our Support Center staff, gathered at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, where we broke bread together with a fiesta-themed Welcome Reception, complete with a live mariachi band. On Tuesday, we worshiped with one of our favorite leaders, Jimmy McNeal. Russ and Debbie Miller (Franchisee of CBA Westfield) shared his testimony, before we heard from keynote speaker Les McKeown on the business journey. Then attendees split into breakout and TED Talk sessions that focused on local marketing, leveraging AI, how to chase excellence personally and professionally, the importance of the digital vehicle inspection, and so much more. That evening, we were honored to celebrate the past year's successes, awarding many sales, guest services, shop growth and cleanliness awards before honoring Matthew H. (CBA Happy Valley & CBA Lake Pleasant) with the Lighthouse Award, Russ and Debbie Miller with the Founder's Award, and Cal Pascanu with Franchisee of the Year, before celebrating everyone with an Afterglow Party for the books. On Wednesday, we prayed together as a group, Jason Miller (CBA Spring Hill & CBA Gallatin) shared his story, and Jon Acuff gave an inspiring keynote about the importance of positive mental soundtracks. Following free time by the resort pool, playing golf, or simply enjoying the property, we hopped on motorcoaches and were police escorted to Pedrotti's Ranch for a full rodeo with live animals, a mechanical bull, a country western band, and barbecue feast. For the final day, over 40 of our vendors set up booths and interactive activities for attendees at our annual Vendor Trade Show, allowing us important face time with the partners who keep our business moving forward. Then together we served those in need with our annual pack-a-thon with Feed the Hunger before our final closing session from President and CEO Donnie Carr. Annual Convention is our favorite week every year. 2026 was all about chasing excellence, and last week reminded us, we can't chase excellence without excellent people and partners at the wheel. We were so grateful for a week of learning, fellowship and fun, and are already looking forward to next year when we'll gather in sunny Marco Island, Florida! Thank you to our Events Team (led by Katy Baronitis, CMP, Matthew Killian, and Zach Bynum) and everyone involved behind the scenes for another fantastic Annual Convention!
