In honor of National Foster Care Month, hear from members of our Foster Care team about just a few of the qualities that can make a great foster parent. Foster parents come from all different backgrounds and bring a variety of strengths, but the most important thing is having a genuine desire to care for children and help them feel safe, supported and happy. We are so grateful for our foster parents! Interested in learning more about foster care? Use the link below: https://lnkd.in/efWt22Fh

Thanks to Ray Davis and the launch of his Beat the Odds Foundation, children in our foster care program were treated to a special night at the Bills Field House. After growing up in foster care, Ray Davis is using his platform to provide meaningful opportunities to children with similar experiences. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to create such a special experience for the children we serve! https://lnkd.in/eXnK4dZ3

Today, we pause to remember the ten cherished lives lost four years ago in Buffalo and honor the lasting impact they continue to have on our community. As we reflect, we also recognize the strength, resilience and compassion shown throughout the East Side and across Buffalo in the years since. Celestine Chaney, Roberta Drury, Andre Mackniel, Katherine Massey, Margus Morrison, Heyward Patterson, Aaron Salter Jr., Geraldine Talley, Ruth Whitfield and Pearl Young. We speak their names with love, carry their memories with purpose, and stand with Buffalo — now and always.

We want to give a huge thank you to Hayatidance and all of the wonderful performers at this past Shimmy Mob and Buffalo Infringement Festival event. On Mother’s Day and every day, we honor and celebrate the moms and caregivers who support others with love, strength and compassion. A heartfelt thank you to the generous individuals and groups who helped make Mother’s Day extra special at Haven House! From the hand-painted flowerpots created by students in Grand Island High School’s Interact Club, to the flowers donated by United Auto Credit, and the gift bags and robes provided by Live Greater Foundation, we are incredibly grateful for the kindness and care shown to the people we serve.
