Sometimes soccer goes far beyond winning or losing a game. This season I’ve had the privilege of being part of Chicago City Soccer Club, where every day on the field reminds me why this sport is so special. At the club, we continue working to better understand the game, analyze performance, and help players develop a deeper soccer IQ. Modern soccer demands more analysis, more detail, and better decision-making on the field. Working with young players means much more than just coaching. It means guiding their development, teaching them to understand the game, building confidence, and watching them grow step by step—not only as players, but as people. Every training session, every conversation, and every game is an opportunity to learn together. I’m very grateful to Chicago City Soccer Club, the players, the families, and the staff for their trust and for making this experience so special. We keep working and enjoying the journey. ⚽️ #YouthDevelopment #SoccerDevelopment #PerformanceAnalysis #PlayerDevelopment #ChicagoSoccer #Football

  • Great work Conor Walsh

"Today is the slowest day of technological change we have experienced in our lives." In this episode, Gareth Quinn shares his journey from working in nightlife and politics into the business world, and how those experiences helped shape the foundations of Kairos. He reflects on the early growth of the startup, the challenge of overcoming confirmation bias in football, and the push to introduce more objective, data-driven thinking in elite sport. The conversation also explores Kairos’ work in high-performance environments, including contributions connected to the Ryder Cup and South Africa’s victory at the Rugby World Cup 2019, and the lessons learned about problem-solving and momentum in both sport and business. Gareth also discusses the merger with Teamworks and the growing importance of integrating technology across sports organizations. From hubs and athlete management systems to intelligence platforms, the focus is on improving communication, creating clarity, and connecting departments. The episode closes with Gareth’s thoughts on modern leadership, the consolidation of sports technology, and what excites him most about the future of the industry. • Great thanks to our partners.

I had the incredible opportunity to visit SOCCER.COM HQ and their customer fulfillment center in Hillsborough, NC for their Spring Match Day! It was truly insightful to get a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of one of the leading online soccer retailers in the game — and to see firsthand how kits, like ours at Chicago City Soccer Club, come into fruition from concept to delivery. I met incredible people, gained valuable operational insight, and left feeling inspired and grateful to work in an industry. 💙⚽️ Thank you Chicago City Soccer Club, Brenden Berry, and SOCCER.COM for making this happen!

  • ⸻ Great work, David Rafael Martinez De Salas Moreno. In just two months with CITY, Coach David has already made a meaningful impact and is proving to be a strong addition to our culture and coaching community. We’re excited to support you in this next chapter here in Chicago and look forward to the continued influence you’ll have on our players and program

✅💯Today I bring an especially enriching learning journey to a close. After successfully defending my thesis, I have now completed the LaLiga MBA, a program that has allowed me to delve deeper into football management and business from a global and contemporary perspective. It has been a demanding path, full of academic challenges, real-world projects, and many hours of study combined with my professional activity on the pitch. This experience has helped me consolidate my knowledge in sports management, strategy, data analysis, and decision-making, while also giving me the opportunity to learn from outstanding professionals in the industry. I take with me the ideas, the tools and, above all, the people: classmates, professors, and professionals with whom I have shared discussions, projects, and a common vision for the future of our sport. With this, I close a key stage of personal and professional growth and open a new one with even more enthusiasm and responsibility, with the goal of continuing to add value to the development of football and to the projects in which I am involved.

  • Our staff keep pushing themselves outside their comfort zones, taking on new challenges and looking for ways to improve every day. That mindset doesn’t happen by accident - it starts with leadership. Conor Walsh leads by example in the simplest and most important ways. He shows up prepared, puts the work in, supports the people around him, and holds himself to a high standard on and off the field. It’s consistent, it’s genuine, and it makes a difference. Thank you, Conor, for setting the tone and for the leadership you bring to our staff every day. Association of Sporting Directors

Over the past three days at the Premier League, Fulham FC and Soho House I completed Block 1 of the Association of Sporting Directors AltSD MBA programme. It has been one of the most impactful and thought-provoking learning experiences I’ve had in the game so far. Spending time alongside professionals from Brazil, Japan, Finland, Germany and the UK offered a valuable reminder of how much there is to learn from different perspectives and experiences. What stood out most was the openness in the room — learning from Sporting Directors operating at the highest levels, whose self-awareness and humility set the tone for honest and meaningful conversations about the realities of the role. My thanks to Dr. Daniel Parnell, Joel Roberts, Alistair Milner, Barry Drust and Louise Doolan for creating such an engaging experience.

  • ⚽️ TRYOUT SEASON 2026 ⚽️ We know this time of year can feel stressful for families especially with the new age change. Our goal is to support you, not add to the pressure. The environment matters. At CITY, youth soccer goes beyond training - shaping confidence, relationships, and family life through intentional, people-first development. Access isn’t a promise here - it’s the standard. Conversations happen early, in person or online, and nothing gets ignored. We’re constantly listening, learning, and improving - guided by our players, parents, and coaches. As research continues to show, development isn’t built on volume alone. Young players need intentional environments that support confidence, resilience, and cognitive growth - on and off the field. That commitment is why CITY is recognized as an Illinois Youth Soccer Premier Club @illinoisyouthsoccer Soccer is the tool. People are the priority. We’re here to help guide your family toward the right environment for your child - right now. Needs change, and we believe in open dialogue to find the right fit. • Congratulations to the players selected for the Southampton FC Development Summer Camp following their standout performances at the Chicago Cup this past November. This opportunity is designed as a meaningful development experience rather than a promise of a professional pathway. It allows players to grow both on and off the field, immerse themselves in a new culture, and experience what a professional club looks and feels like. The goal is to support their overall development while providing valuable insight into the professional game in Europe Representing CITY, Orland Park Sting, and Campton United, these athletes earned their selection through consistent excellence, competitive mentality, and high-level match performances. This summer, they will travel to train at one of Europe’s premier academies, gaining invaluable international experience and exposure. We are proud of the work put in by the players, coaches, and clubs that helped make this opportunity possible. Well deserved - enjoy the journey. @southamptonfc @globalsportsexperiences @opstingfc @camptonunitedsc
