The Chicago Bears congratulate Executive Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs & Chief Legal Officer Krista Whitaker on her recent recognition by the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago for her leadership, mentorship and lasting impact within the legal profession. Whitaker was honored during the organization’s annual spring fundraiser luncheon in late April for being a trailblazing leader whose excellence, service and impact continue to shape the legal profession and inspire future generations. Founded in 1987, the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago is one of Illinois’ leading legal organizations representing Black women attorneys, judges, law professors and law students across Chicagoland and the Midwest. “I want to do for others what was done for me,” Whitaker shared, “but more importantly, I want to create opportunities for others that were once thought impossible.” Since joining the Bears in 2024, Whitaker oversees the organization’s legal and security departments and provides strategic counsel and legal guidance across both football and business operations. Congratulations to Krista on this well-deserved honor and for continuing to inspire future leaders. 🐻💙 Read more about Krista’s recognition here: https://lnkd.in/grbkTZmG

The Chicago Bears congratulate former Bears linebacker and coach Ron Rivera on his recent induction into the inaugural Hispanic Football Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026. The Hispanic Football Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring Hispanic football players, coaches and contributors while preserving their legacy and inspiring future generations through their impact on the game. Rivera, who is of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent, spent his entire nine-year playing career with the Bears. He became the first player of Puerto Rican descent to win a Super Bowl as part of the team’s Super Bowl XX championship season. Following his retirement, Rivera contributed to Chicago as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator, helping lead the Bears to compete in Super Bowl XLI. He later went on to a successful head coaching career with other NFL teams that included two NFL Coach of the Year honors and a Super Bowl appearance. Congratulations to Ron Rivera on this well-deserved honor, alongside fellow inaugural Class of 2026 inductees Tom Fears, Tom Flores, Ted Hendricks, Anthony Muñoz, Jim Plunkett and Steve Van Buren. 🐻💙 Read more about Rivera’s recent Hispanic Football Hall of Fame induction here: https://lnkd.in/gv2smdFF

This past weekend, Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai spent Mother’s Day weekend alongside his mother, Gwen, at the 29th Annual Bears Care Gala. As the Bears community came together to support breast and ovarian cancer research and women’s cancer care programs across Chicagoland, Kyle invited his mother to join him for the evening as his plus-one. They shared a special moment together while supporting a cause that has personally impacted many families, alongside Kyle’s teammates. For Gwen, who immigrated to the United States from Cameroon years ago, the evening became an emotional full-circle moment as she witnessed the love and support her son has received from Bears fans. In addition to walking the Orange Carpet alongside Kyle, she had the opportunity to meet key figures within the organization who continue to support and believe in his journey, including Bears President & CEO Kevin Warren, General Manager Ryan Poles and Head Coach Ben Johnson. "I'm so proud of him," Gwen shared. "I tell him he inspires me and he says, 'I draw my strength from you.'" The story between Kyle and his mother at the Gala is part of how Bears Care continues to bring together the football and Chicago communities in support of a mission greater than the game. 🐻💙 Read more on Kyle and Gwen’s special Mother’s Day weekend experience here: https://lnkd.in/g3XTPsbV

The Chicago Bears and Bears Care are proud to share their 2025–26 Community Report, Touchdowns Around Town, highlighting the organization’s community and charitable efforts over the past year. During the 2025–26 season, some of the highlights include the Bears reaching more than 28,000 participants through football development programs, 247 community appearances by players and alumni, and raising more than $1 million through the 2025 Bears Care Gala to support breast and ovarian cancer research, clinical trials and patient care access across Chicagoland. “That commitment comes to life through the work we do year-round, creating access to the game, supporting local initiatives and building meaningful connections. This report reflects the collective impact of our players, staff and partners, and the responsibility we carry to continue showing up for communities across Chicagoland,” said EVP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion & Chief Impact Officer Tanesha Wade. Recently Chicago Bears President & CEO Kevin Warren was honored by City Year Chicago at the organization’s Ripples of Hope Gala, recognizing his commitment to supporting and empowering youth across Chicagoland. What began in 2019 through the Warren Family Foundation as a connection with a Chicago Public School has grown into a broader effort focused on embracing, educating and empowering youth through increased access to opportunities. "Supporting our young people in Chicago or anywhere in the world is the key," said Kevin Warren. "I mean, that is our future. I am the beneficiary of people being a ripple in my life. I think that is what we have to do, especially with our young people and the way the world is right now. We have to really lean into them and help them because they are our future and they are so talented." That work continues today through efforts with the Bears, expanding pathways for young people, including the growth of girls flag football across Illinois and support for local institutions such as Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Warren’s message at the gala focused on the importance of showing up for the next generation and creating opportunities that help shape their future. 🐻💙 To read the full story, visit: https://lnkd.in/g7Wvf-gc
