April is National Minority Health Month - a time to recognize that advancing health equity takes collaboration across the entire care ecosystem. As the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) and the U.S. Office of Minority Health emphasize, improving minority health requires strong partnerships and shared commitment. Everyone has a role in advancing health equity with a goal of helping bring the right support to more people, when and where they need it most. #NationalMinorityHealthMonth #HealthEquity #DigitalHealth #BehavioralHealth #SUD #HealthAccess

“The next opioid epidemic.” That’s how some experts are describing the rise of gambling addiction as sports betting expands rapidly across the U.S. A recent piece in Fierce Healthcare explores the growing concern: legalization is accelerating access to gambling faster than the public health system is building resources to address the harm. And one major challenge stands out: Most people struggling with gambling addiction never enter treatment. Stigma, lack of screening, and limited access to specialized care mean many people fall through the cracks. That’s why solutions that support individuals between treatment visits are becoming increasingly important. CHESS Health was highlighted in the article for its peer-powered digital support tool designed to extend recovery support beyond clinic walls. "What we’re trying to serve is the gap between treatment visits," CHESS Health CEO Hans Morefield explains. Now that same approach is expanding to support people experiencing problem gambling, including a new initiative in West Virginia and future plans for North Carolina. Because recovery doesn’t just happen during appointments. It happens in the hours, days, and decisions in between. Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a growing public health crisis in the United States, impacting millions of individuals, families, and communities. Yet for much of the past decade, the national conversation around substance use has centered mainly on the opioid epidemic. That focus has driven policy, funding, and clinical infrastructure in critical ways. While attention was directed elsewhere, AUD quietly surged. The data now demands a reckoning. 🔗: https://lnkd.in/eWFzfYNW

Your patient completed treatment. Your member followed the care plan. Your client showed up every week. And then they went home to nothing. No community. No connection. No one to call at 2 a.m. Loneliness isn't a side effect of addiction. For a lot of people, it's the cause - and the reason relapse happens long after the clinical work is done. We've been thinking hard about this. Here's what we believe good looks like: https://lnkd.in/e8TE9d6M

Recovery isn’t just about starting treatment, it’s about staying connected. It's crucial to stay engaged, supported, and moving forward every step of the way. 💙 #AlcoholAwarenessMonth #SUD #PatientEngagement #DigitalHealth
