CHA HPMC proudly participated in the LA County Region 1 Annual Decontamination Exercise held at California Hospital Medical Center last week. Our decontamination team suited up alongside six other hospitals to strengthen regional emergency preparedness and response. Decontamination drills are critical for testing and improving an organization’s ability to safely and effectively remove hazardous contaminants from people, equipment, and environments before a real incident occurs. Proud of our team for representing CHA HPMC and contributing to this important effort. 💙 #CHAHPMC #EmergencyPreparedness #DeconDrill #CommunityCare

As we close out Women's History Month, we want to honor a woman whose vision quite literally saved our hospital — Mrs. Millicent Olmsted. When the Great Depression hit in 1929, our hospital struggled to keep its doors open. It was the Trust established by Mrs. Millicent Olmsted that provided the financial lifeline that kept us standing. But her legacy goes far beyond a financial gift. Mrs. Olmsted dreamed of building a Presbyterian hospital in Los Angeles where patients of any creed and race would be treated — a vision of inclusive, compassionate care that still defines who we are today. On November 11, 1937, the hospital was renamed Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital-Olmsted Memorial in her honor — a name that carried her spirit of service for decades to come. One woman's dream. One hundred years of care. Her legacy lives on in every patient we serve. 🏥💙🧡 #WomensHistoryMonth #CHAHollywoodPresbyterian #CHAHPMC #HollywoodHistory #WomenWhoLead #HealthcareHeroes #LosAngeles #HospitalHistory #MillicentOlmsted

A 20-Year Full-Circle Moment in Patient Care At CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, we recently had the privilege of celebrating a remarkable reunion between Dr. Ramen H. Chmait and his very first patient. Two decades ago, a young mother arrived facing a devastating diagnosis: advanced Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), a condition with over a 95% chance of losing one or both babies without treatment. At the time, access to this specialized fetal surgery was extremely limited in Southern California. Faced with urgency, Dr. Chmait and the care team acted quickly, prioritizing patient care above all else. That decision changed everything. Today, those babies are Daniel and Diego, now thriving young adults. Seeing them reunited with the physician who helped save their lives is a powerful reminder of what compassionate, mission-driven healthcare can achieve. Since that first case that took place at our hospital, Dr. Chmait has gone on to perform thousands of life-saving procedures, impacting families across the region and beyond. We are proud to have Dr. Chmait as part of the CHA HPMC family, and to support the life-changing work he and his team continue to lead. This moment reflects the very heart of our work: • Courage in the face of uncertainty • Trust between patients and providers • A commitment to doing what’s right CHA HPMC is honored to be part of stories like this, where care extends far beyond the hospital walls. #HealthcareLeadership #PatientCare #MedicalInnovation #TTTS #CHAHPMC #Gratitude #FullCircleMoment#LASurgery
