Updates

  • Yesterday, community members, partners, friends, and supporters gathered to celebrate an extraordinary milestone for LaJean Ray, director of Catholic Charities’ Fatima Family Center. Hosted by the Cleveland Foundation, the private reception honored LaJean’s 40 years of visionary leadership and helped raise support for the LaJean Ray Legacy Exposure Fund.   The fund will expand opportunities for young people in Cleveland’s historic Hough neighborhood through cultural, educational, and leadership experiences that inspire growth and possibility.   The afternoon featured live music, special performances by Fatima students, and heartfelt tributes from family, community leaders, partners, and public officials — all recognizing LaJean’s lasting impact on generations of children and families.   Congratulations, LaJean, on four decades of service, leadership, and transformational impact in the Hough community.

A huge thank you to everyone who stepped up for our St. Augustine donation drive! 🧺💙 We are so proud to be part of a community that shows up in such a big way to help others. Thanks to our team's donations, we were able to collect towels and hygiene essentials to help our neighbors get a fresh start in their brand-new home in Tremont. Seeing the St. Augustine Family Center bring all their vital programs under one roof, from the hunger center to the new shower facilities, is so inspiring. We are honored to help them stock their new space and wish our friends so much happiness as they settle into their beautiful new home on West 14th St. 🏠✨ Helping our neighbors is what it’s all about. Thank you for making this drive a success! ❤️👏 #ElkandElk #CommunityStrong #StAugustine #Tremont #Cleveland #GiveBack

  • Yesterday, we celebrated the opening of the new St. Augustine Family Center in Cleveland’s historic Tremont neighborhood. From new faces to longtime supporters, we are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us to connect, learn, and celebrate this exciting new chapter for our community.   The St. Augustine Family Center will serve as a welcoming hub for individuals and families, providing vital resources, supportive services, and a place of belonging for all who walk through its doors. Services will include job and career training, counseling, disability programming, and the St. Augustine Hunger Center, which offers hot meals, pantry services, and emergency assistance to those in need.   We extend a special thank you to Sanson Produce and an anonymous benefactor whose generosity made the renovation of this site possible. Through the continued support of our community, we are able to provide help, create hope, and serve all.
