News from United States Department of War about commitment to new entrants and Low-Cost Hypersonic Missiles: "Once Castelion achieves testing, the Department will award a multi-year contract for a minimum of 500 Blackbeard missiles annually, while seeking the necessary authorizations and appropriations for over 12,000 total missiles over five years."

Castelion and United States Department of War Sign Framework Agreement to Build Low-Cost Hypersonic Missiles for the Arsenal of Freedom Multi-year procurement of 500 weapons annually in shift from development to production, targeting operational fielding at scale. The framework represents the first production agreement of its kind for a low-cost hypersonic weapon and directly advances the Department’s mandate to build credible deterrence at scale through the Arsenal of Freedom. Castelion welcomes Michael Tremel ("MOB") as Director of Government Affairs, where he leads engagement with defense and congressional stakeholders to advance our hypersonic and advanced weapons programs. MOB, a US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) graduate and former instructor, is a retired U.S. Navy Commander with over 3,500 flight hours and 100+ combat missions in the F/A-18 Super Hornet. On June 18, 2017, he became the first American pilot to shoot down an enemy aircraft in nearly 20 years, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross for protecting allied forces during the battle of Raqqa. The US Navy has awarded Castelion a $105M contract to integrate Blackbeard, the Navy's first air-launched hypersonic strike weapon, onto the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet.
