We were honored to host our annual Shareowners’ Meeting yesterday morning at the FSU Turnbull Conference Center in Tallahassee, Fla. Associates and shareowners from across our footprint came together for an engaging program highlighting our 2025 performance, key industry and economic insight and the outlook for the year ahead. Following a brief business meeting, Capital City Bank Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bill Smith shared highlights from the past year and provided perspective on the trends shaping our industry and future growth. The program concluded with the recognition of our 2026 award honorees, celebrating Chiefland Financial Advisor Danny Etheridge, recipient of the 2026 Godfrey Smith Award, and Capital City Home Loans CEO and Managing Partner Greg Shumate, recipient of the 2026 Julian V. Smith Community Service Award. Both exemplify the commitment to excellence and community service that defines Capital City Bank. The meeting also featured the premiere of a new video, “We are Capital City Bank,” showcasing our relationship-first approach and the impact we continue to make in the communities we serve, as well as how being community-minded has helped strengthen the people, businesses and neighborhoods we have proudly served since 1895. Smith Community Service Award, an honor reserved for the Capital City Associate who embodies a spirit of volunteerism and selflessly gives of themselves for the benefit of others. With more than four decades in mortgage banking, Greg has dedicated his career to helping individuals and families achieve homeownership and carried that same passion into the communities he serves. His impact spans affordable housing, community revitalization and economic development, with leadership roles in organizations such as Partnership Gwinnett, the Community Foundation of Northeast Georgia and Georgia Gwinnett College, along with hands-on service supporting Habitat for Humanity and the Fuller Center for Housing.
