On May 9, Little Orange Fish will host our Healthy Minds – Strong Community celebration, an open, family-friendly afternoon designed to make mental wellness more accessible, visible, and connected across North Alabama. This year’s event is intentionally designed as a relaxed, engaging community experience—featuring live music, kids’ art activities, and meaningful opportunities for families to connect with local mental wellness resources. One of the highlights will be a collaborative community mural, where children and families can contribute their own “feelings fish” to a shared ocean scene—reinforcing the idea that every feeling has a place and a voice. We’re especially excited to be joined by partners bringing interactive experiences and real-world connection points, including: • North Alabama Mental Health Coalition (NAMHC) members — offering resources, education, and pathways to care across our region • RAN–UAH — featuring the public reveal of ARNIE (Autism Resource Navigator & Information Explorer), an innovative initiative designed to improve access to care and services for our neurodiverse community • Heart to Heart Pet Partners — a nationally recognized therapy animal organization bringing trained therapy animals, including Zorro the mini horse, to promote comfort, connection, and emotional well-being • Inside Out Studio — a nonprofit art studio supporting artists with developmental disabilities, showcasing artwork and creating opportunities to engage directly with the artists • Marcus Pope and Friends — returning by popular request to provide live music and help create a welcoming, uplifting environment throughout the afternoon This event reflects a core belief: That strengthening mental health outcomes starts with connection—between people, resources, and community. 📍 The Shed at Stovehouse (Huntsville, AL) 🗓 May 9, 2026 ⏰ 2:00–6:00 PM 🎟 Free and open to the public If you’re working in healthcare, education, nonprofit services—or simply care about building a stronger, more connected community—this is an opportunity to experience that work in action.
