One of the biggest misconceptions about emotional regulation is that it’s something people simply “grow out of.” What we tend to see instead is that many learning, attention, and regulation challenges follow people into adulthood — they just show up differently. The child who struggled with transitions may become the adult overwhelmed by constant context-switching at work. The student who appeared “too sensitive” may become the professional quietly managing cognitive fatigue behind high performance. That’s part of why conversations around emotional regulation belong on LinkedIn too. These patterns affect leadership, collaboration, communication, burnout, and workplace dynamics more than many organizations realize. In our latest article, we explore: • Why emotional regulation is tied to foundational brain systems • How stress and sensory load affect behavior and recovery • Why learning differences don’t disappear after school • The strengths many neurodivergent and differently wired individuals bring into professional spaces 👇 Read the full article here #EmotionalRegulation #ExecutiveFunction #LearningDifferences #Neurodevelopment #BrainHealth #BrainBalance

Support for a healthy brain is often built through consistency, not perfection. Small habits repeated daily can help support how kids (and busy parents) feel, learn, regulate, and function over time. 💙 #BrainBalance

Some people don’t struggle because they lack ability. They struggle because the information isn’t reaching them in the right format. Auditory learners are a great example of this. Across classrooms and workplaces, we consistently see individuals who can explain ideas clearly, think through problems out loud, and contribute meaningfully in conversation—but appear distracted or inconsistent when information is delivered silently or visually. That’s not a motivation issue. It’s a processing mismatch. In this article, we break down what auditory learning actually looks like, why it often gets misunderstood, and how these patterns show up well beyond school—in meetings, collaboration, and everyday work. If you’ve ever wondered why someone performs better in conversation than on paper (or vice versa), this will give you a clearer lens. 👇 Read the full article here: #LearningDifferences #CognitiveDevelopment #WorkplacePerformance #EducationInsights #BrainHealth #BrainBalance

Developmental challenges rarely exist in isolation. So what happens when multiple domains are addressed at once? A study published in Frontiers in Psychology examined outcomes for children and adolescents participating in the Brain Balance program. 🟥 What was studied? Researchers, including Dr. Rebecca Jackson, evaluated the effectiveness of the Brain Balance program across multiple developmental domains using pre- and post-program data from a three-month intervention. 🟦 Who participated? The study included 4,041 children and adolescents ages 4–18. Outcomes were measured using the Brain Balance Multidomain Developmental Survey (BB-MDS), a validated parent-reported assessment tool evaluating six key areas of development. 🟩 What changed? The study found statistically and clinically meaningful improvements across several domains, including: ∙ Improvements in emotional functioning, including reductions in negative emotionality ∙ Gains in social communication and behavioral regulation ∙ Increased academic engagement and reductions in reading and writing difficulties ∙Improvements in motor skills and coordination Findings also indicated that developmental domains are interconnected, with progress in one area associated with improvements in others. Participants with more severe baseline challenges showed larger effect sizes following the program. 🟨 Why This Matters For families: These findings reinforce that addressing multiple areas of development simultaneously may support meaningful improvements in how children function across home, school, and social environments. For professionals: This research contributes to a growing body of evidence supporting integrated, multimodal approaches to child development—highlighting the potential for programs that target interconnected systems rather than isolated symptoms. 🟪 Join the Mission This growing body of research reflects a broader commitment to measurable outcomes for children and families. When we talk about anxiety in kids, it’s easy to focus on what we see. But anxiety goes deeper than emotions, behavior or personality. It starts with how the brain processes and responds to information. Dr. Rebecca Jackson, Chief Programs Officer, shares why understanding the brain is key to truly supporting your child. When we start with how the brain is developing and functioning, we can begin to provide the right tools, support, and strategies to help kids feel more regulated, confident, and capable. #BrainBalance #ChildDevelopment #KidsMentalHealth

Parents and clinicians often focus on behavior, communication, or academics in autism. But what if the real opportunity starts beneath the surface? A controlled study by Brain Balance of 86 children with autism found: • Improvements across 5 of 6 sensory-motor domains. • Measurable progress in reflex integration. • Gains in coordination, balance, and motor skills. Even more notable: 73.6% of parents reported improvements in social communication, even though the program does not directly target social communication skills. This highlights an important idea: 👉 Development is interconnected. 👉 Supporting foundational brain systems influences behavior, communication and focus. For both professionals and parents, it may be worth evaluating how Brain Balance can fit into your overall toolkit to see improvements in Autism symptoms. There’s a pattern that shows up in both classrooms and conference rooms, but we don’t always connect the dots. A child who struggles with focus, regulation, or follow-through doesn’t suddenly outgrow those patterns. More often, they evolve into adult behaviors that look like inconsistency, burnout, or unrealized potential. What’s interesting is this: across many cases, improvements don’t happen in just one area. When change occurs, it tends to show up across focus, emotional regulation, and performance at the same time. That raises a bigger question—are we addressing symptoms, or the systems underneath them? In this article, we take a closer look at what research and real-world outcomes reveal about brain-based approaches, and why this conversation belongs just as much in professional spaces as it does in education. 👇 If you’ve ever noticed these patterns in yourself, your team, or your child, this will likely resonate. #BrainBalance #BrainHealth #LearningAndDevelopment #ExecutiveFunction #Neurodevelopment #WorkplacePerformance

It all starts here. 💛 During Mental Health Awareness Month, it’s important to remember that challenges like anxiety, mood changes, and emotional regulation are often signs of a brain that is not functioning at its best. Understanding your child is the first step toward real progress. Our assessment helps uncover how your child’s brain processes, responds, and learns. So we can build a plan that supports them for sustained improvement. Simple daily habits like movement, outdoor play, and sensory activities can also support mood and focus. #BrainBalance #ChildDevelopment #ParentingSupport
